Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

This defeat is a victory for all those nameless, spineless, self-serving old RINOs fearful of a Big Alabama Bull disrupting the cozy Senate regime’s alliance with K Street.

So a collusion of GOPe operatives funded by Mitch McConnell PAC etc worked from day one to stop firebrand Moore who they knew knew they couldn’t control
LaterWashPo working with both democrat and GOPe operatives line up these paid women to smear Moore
Only one of whom mattered to me and we later find out all sorts of discrepancies and omissions like her divorce trial and all these later issues she has though the media won’t mention that
Alll arranged by a dem law firm conveniently final hour and never substantiated it yet carried by the media including bitch hunt Fox repeatedly as credible ad nauseam
And it worked
Blacks came out heavy
Soccer moms in Vestavia and post grad voters in Huntsville and Florence flipped
And a lot of folks stayed home who voted in 2016
And younger white voters even in Alabama tend to be more liberal

It’s comparable to Mississippi except there the state GOP was more involved in total via the Barbour apparatI although former democrat Shelbys late hour defection hurt

It’s like when Gillebrand first ran and her GOP opponent was smeared out by later found out totally unsubstantiated rumor which was a media dem plot

This stuff works and if it works in Alabama it’ll work anywhere

I fear that solutions at the ballot box have mostly passed. The degree of corruption and the dictatorship of the deep state/uniparty will only be dislodged by widespread violence. Look at Venezuela for what can happen when a democratically government turns to winning at any costs.
I don’t disagree.
But this is a war and we’re going to lose some.
The key is to keep fighting and with Trump at the helm, I have hope that he will still be able to do great things.

He’s a Massachusetts left-winger and has been his entire life. He was Mayor of my city before he was Governor, and he was terrible. Terrible crime rate, understaffed police department and was more focused on building new, expensive projects downtown than doing a damn thing for us folks living in the suburban areas. My section of town was booming before he came into office. By the time he was done, we were on a rapid path to becoming a slum and high-crime area along with being flooded by illegals.
So please, spare me your remarks about how great he was. And that you’d defend someone who gave the middle finger to Christians on a Christmas card by putting a Mohammadan on the card speaks more about you than anything else.
If AL is lost; so is the whole country, for AL is more traditional that all but a handful of other states.

Yeah, well that’s not hard to imagine after the titanic changes I’ve seen in California. Aided and abetted by establishment Republicans who helped immigrate it out of existence. What many freepers don’t seem to get is that California votes left because at least half of its old American population has been replaced by the 3rd world. And surprise, surprise, they don’t leave old habits at the border.

And they seem to be as eager to get rid of old stock Americans as the left.
