Arizona Republican Rep. Trent Franks is expected to resign from Congress, a source with knowledge told Roll Call. The 8th District congressman did not confirm or deny any plans to resign. He said he expected to make a statement Thursday.
We will have a statement a little bit later, but thats all I can tell you right now, Franks told Roll Call. The statement will explain.

Eating apples?
Not making excuses for anyone’s bad behavior, but at least it’s a relief to find out some of them are heterosexual.
I wish the congress would really be serious about casting out all the scoundrels and crooks but there wouldn’t be anyone left up there if they did. So basically if the bad deeds of a member generate bad PR they are gone but if they cover their tracks well enough everyone on the Hill will look the other way.
Agree.
They need to keep their hands to themselves and also out of the taxpayers’ pockets.
My district, too and this is really a shock if it is for inappropriate behavior. Hoping this is not the reason but time will tell. Tonight our community has its monthly Rebublican club meeting. Congressman Franks has spoken to us many times and I am sure everyone will be shocked over this news.
Keep us posted if you hear anything !
This is really not good. He’s one of the good ones. We joke around about the little head doing the thinking and some women just bring out the hornies in men. Really don’t like all this.
If this doesn’t bring about term limits; nothing will. Term limits are no longer a want; they are a need.
Yes, but you can be sure that there will be an effort to replace these guys with women in Congress. Not that the idea is a poor one *in general*, but you know what types they'll run - all right out of Hillary's rolodex and the ranks of EMILY's List. Remember what Obama said recently about women being better suited to leadership positions? There has been a barrage of articles on that topic coming from every European nation that is likely to be joining the Caliphate soon.
“I have recently learned that the Ethics Committee is reviewing an inquiry regarding my discussion of surrogacy with two previous female subordinates, making each feel uncomfortable,” he said in a statement. “I deeply regret that my discussion of this option and process in the workplace caused distress.”
Surrogacy in general, or a particular surrogacy? As in “would you be my surrogate?”
One is a civics discussion, the other is likely harassment.
Decent and moral people arent atttracted to congress. Which is a good thing. That means instead of playing power games, carousing, and refining their backstabbing skills, theyre doing something worthwhile.
Politics is a scam and were suckers for playing.
Oh, pure speculation.
This Franks allegation seems to be BS. There was a female ex-staffer (not one of the accusers) just on Tucker. She said the allegations, which appear to be true, are that Franks & his wife are having trouble conceiving. Franks asked two different staffers about being a surrogate. Apparently, he didn’t ask them to be surrogates, but about being a surrogate, in general.
A weird conversation? Yes. Sexual harassment? Seems questionable.
Maybe there will be more later, but I don’t know about this one.
The ex-staffer said she worked for Franks & at no time, ever felt uncomfortable.
And notice that RINO Ryan immediately wanted him out. Solely because he was part of the freedom caucus.
seems there should be more there there.
Yes, I did notice Tucker mention that about weasel Ryan.
That’s the sorry thing - positions of such power and influence invariably draw some of society’s worst characters....folks like Reagan/Trump/Pence are the anomalies.
I ve Been asked. There was a time, before redistricting, Trent was our Congressman. I know him well.
