When did actors become the ultimate authority on the constitution?
CNNs David Axelrod (who, lest we forget, was Obamas political guru) interviewed actor Tom Hanks on The Axe Files on December 2, and pushed Hanks to pontificate on Donald Trump, the constitution, and fake news. When Axelrod asked Hanks whether he was concerned by the president target[ing] news organizations, Hanks responded, As an American, it concerns me because its monkeying around with our Constitution.
Again, this is David Axelrod, who worked for Barack Obama. He now has a show on CNN. Hes asking wonderfully leading questions about Donald Trumps criticism of CNN. Is just a little self-awareness too much to ask?
Anyway, according to Judge Hanks, media criticism is meddling with the constitution. Where is that in the amendments?
In the hour long interview, Hanks went on to talk about the fake news phenomenon: Its relatively obvious, I think, as what is trying to go forward. When you tear down these institutions to a level and say you cant believe anything that is in any of them, that raises the stock of those agenda-filled other institutions and what not so that if you cant believe them, well that means you get to believe some of the other stuff that is in these and so what is happening is that dilution, the dilution of the great
theyre throwing dirt and oil into a bucket of water. So it all becomes undrinkable after a while, he told Axelrod, the former senior Obama official who now has a show at
CNN.

Better to remain silent and thought a fool....
Two words for Hanks:
Brian Ross
Oh shut up Tom, you have no idea what you’re talking about. But if you want to totally alienate the 63 million plus who support President Trump, keep flapping your ignorant Hollywood lips.
Just another Rat tard fool from Hollywood.......
Statements like these are why people like Tom are paid to read other peoples thoughts rather than speaking their own.
The Left wants the Second Amendment to apply only to weapons in existence when the Bill of Rights was instituted. Using that rationale, the First Amendment should apply only to newspapers and pamphlets, not to any electronic media. And search as one might, no mention of CNN is in the Bill of Rights or the Constitution.
Wow. Another person who makes a living pretending to be something he is not considers himself wiser than the people who pay his bills for him. Color me impressed. /sarc
“Forrest Gump” has spoken, thus sharing his intellect with us all. Good grief, where do they find those idiots?
Consider this ironic aspect...
Hi Tom! What effect does partisan party officials working for the government, then the media, and then the government again, and maybe the media after that, and so on and so forth, tell you about the Constitution?
How does Hanks feel about a presidential campaign manager, who obviously had to take a very partisan position to win, and then was appointed in a government role, maintaining and increasing that partisanship throughout his term, and now that his boss’s term of governance is over, gets to sit in a big media seat and criticize the new president?
Et tu, Axelrod?
I had first notice of this quote from Heinlein from a post by another Freeper on another thread not too many days ago.
It is from Robert Heinlein’s last novel - To Sail Beyond The Sunset, written in 1987:
But there seems to have been an actual decline in rational thinking. The United States had become a place where entertainers and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance. They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously after all, if an athlete is paid a million or more a year, he knows he is important so his opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he proves himself to be both ignorant and subliterate every time he opens his mouth.

And the Alerods of the world WANT the sheeple to listen to Hanks.
The individual’s freedom of speech “Trumps” the freedom of the press.
It a thing made by our Creator.
Hanks should go back to reading lines written for him by OTHER people.
Says the donor to Bubba’s defense fund...
I like him separate from politics. But he lives in this crazy bubble where up is down, Harvey is good. He knew these Hollywood power guys were hurting women. He knows of more right now. His super lefty feminist wife knew. They are hypocrites. Hes a decent guy sometimes but if you cant see the utter corrupt propaganda coming from CNN then you are brainwashed or stupid.
Meanwhile CNN monkeys around with the news.
Apparently Spielberg and Geffen gonna get their Weinstein day soon. I hope so (if all these blind items are true I hope the truth is discovered and revealed to all).
Although Spielberg will be a huge shock to us all, at least he doesnt have a really awesome song about him. I choose to imagine Geffens very special friend of mine is over 18...
And the Axelrods of the world WANT the sheeple to listen to Hanks.
Hollywood is perfect. Full of tools so dumb and blackmailable in so many ways because they want stardom and worship MORE THAN THEY WANT TO BREATHE.
The current strain of liberal anger thats affecting him and so many others is some nasty, highly contagious, soul destroying stuff.
It attacks the mental and emotional reasoning of those infected and should be purged from the system as soon as possible, but by age 50 at the very latest.
Wilson had such a Powerful role
in that movie.
Tom should take a hint.
Burn, Hollywierd, burn.
Hmmm...... I did not know of the Hanks effort with the excellent John Adams series
