UConn changes speaker rules after conservative speech ruckus
FOX 61 ^

The University of Connecticut has issued new guidelines for speakers and campus events after an altercation at a speech by a conservative commentator titled “It’s OK To Be White.”

UConn President Susan Herbst said Monday in a campus-wide email that events or other programming will not be allowed if the school determines the individual involved represents a “danger to our community.”

Herbst says speaker Lucian Wintrich had no criminal history, but UConn was “disturbed” to learn that an individual who traveled with him has at least one arrest for a “violent offense.”

A young woman appeared to take paperwork off the lectern during Wintrich’s speech last Tuesday. Cellphone videos showed Wintrich grabbing her. Police charged him with breach of peace.

Wintrich says he had every right to retrieve his property.

So a lefty created a incident where they wasn't one and decided that they will not permit speakers who are “danger to our community." I;m sure they will be unbiased in deciding who to let speak, right?

Thats par fr the course for the now liberal fascist left on college campuses, who follow the rules of Saul Alinsky, as promulgated by the magic negro himself, in order to divide Americans from each other.

If the UCONN leftists do not want to be a part of America’s melting pot, then they need to GTFO. Pronto. Go find another country to live in.

The ‘new rules’ should be:

1. Sit down and shut up until attendees are allowed to ask questions;

2. If you violate Rule 1 you will be sent out of the room and you will be suspended from the school if you refuse to follow police instructions;

3. A free society demands that we be able to sit and listen to those with whom we disagree and debate. Violence and shouting down speech will not be permitted.

Instead of this the school changed the rules to discourage free speech.

How scared are liberals that they can’t debate? They know they have the losing argument.

Watch them show up on shows like Turcker Carlson’s and get destroyed.

“danger to our community.”...the danger to the community is being created by that community's students and teachers who apparently become violent when exposed to anything they disagree with - the danger is not from the outside individual coming to peacefully express himself - the danger is from within your own gates.....

Meaning that virtually no BLM or other Social Justice Warriors will be allowed to speak, n'est-ce pas?

I mean, these inciters of race hatred (directed against the "Evil White Man") almost always have a police record, nicht wahr?

Regards,

If the individual who travels with Wintrich were here illegally, he would be protected, and maybe hailed as a hero.

Because censorship is wrong, so let’s call it something else.

These universities are getting millions of dollars from our government. Your tax dollars are being used to brainwash generations of students.

File the lawsuit immediately then. Taxpayer-supported universities cannot curtail 1st Amendment rights, no matter how uncomfortable it makes them.

The danger came from the protesters, not the speaker.

Leftist weasels.

American Universities are organizationally designed for political control, not academic freedom. The historical workings out of the need for academic freedom have led the major European Universities to have a much different leadership structure.

The academic need to experiment with ideas might lead to discomfort in some cases. What we see in the American system is totalitarian control by a class of administrators who have utter contempt for freedom of speech. There cannot be academic freedom in this situation. The American universities are simply not Universities in the real sense. They are grossly uncompetitive with what is available in other parts of the world.

Brainwashing is right. From what I have read, some of these people sound and act as if they were in a cult. I wouldn’t put up with that environment for ten minutes.

Hey, Mrs. UnCt President Herbst has just banned Van Jones, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, Malik Shabbazadabbado, Kathy Griffth, Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, George Soros, Maxine Waters, Rep. Stephen Cohen (D - TN), Andrew Cuomo (The “Don” of NY State), Mayor Bill DeCommio DeBlasio (copkiller’s friend), Colin Kaepernick (friend of Casto and Che and Joan Chesimard), Jane Fonda (Friend of Hanoi), the Manson Family (I threw that in for shits and grins), Hillary “Mrs. Benghazi” Clinton, Huma Abedin (Moslem Brotherhood ties), John Podesta (possibly child molesta), Bill Ayers (admitted communist terrorist), and half the professors at other colleges.

They are all a “clear and present danger to society, academia, and sanity”.

Pres. Herbst is gonna need more paper for her list of banned “dangers to our community”.

I agree, the list is much longer; fast furious Eric Holder one of the most egregious.

UConn president Susan Herbst represents a clear and present danger to our Republic.

People ought be free not to attend. The problem is caused by people who wish to prevent others from having the choice to attend and listen in peace to speakers they wanted to hear.

Any criticism of Herbst represents a clear and present danger to the university.

We get it.

Let’s all congratulate her on the Huskies football team 3-9 record.

Then we can all get banned from speaking at UConn!
