Reminds me of the Martha Stewart conviction for lying about insider trading, even though she was not charged with insider trading.

...Michael Flynn with “willfully and knowingly” making “false, fictitious and fraudulent statements” to the FBI regarding conversations with Russia’s ambassador.

In other words, a PROCESS CRIME...

"Sounds like a bullshit charge, to me."

Maybe the deal was that more serious charges would not be filed if he copped to this charge and agreed to cooperate, and testify, for Mueller? Wonder if there is a cooperation provision in his plea agreement.

I don’t believe it should be a crime to lie to any law enforcement agency. In my mind that violates the constitutional protection against self-incrimination. But since our overlords did make it a crime, then fat chance they would ever get a word out of me should our paths cross.

LS was saying back in August that criminal charges against Manafort and Flynn were likely outcomes in this investigation, so I’d say he’s on pretty solid ground here.

How pitiful. That’s all they got. Question anyone long enough and you can find a process crime to charge them with. The question is was their anything nefarious behind the false statement. That ought to be the barometer before preferring a lying charge. Let’s see what Flynn gave up for this.

When is Comey going to be charged with lying to Congress and withholding evidence against Clinton?

Where’s the collusion?

You'll never see anyone charged with the made-up "crime" of collusion.

Guilty plea on lesser charge could be part of deal.

So Mueller’s got nothing and going for process crimes to justify his existence.

The guy should fight it in front of a jury. How many times have Democrats claimed after sworn Congressional testimony... “I misspoke”!

"guilty to what?"

Yeah... they did the same thing to Scooter Libby... They didn't get him for anything illegal, just lying to the investigators.... That kind of deal stinks too high heaven...

Sounds like a bullshit charge, to me.

They always are.

The labyrinth of federal laws is such that every single American could likely be charge with some crime.

I fully expect this is the case. This isn’t the last of Michael Flynn or his dipshit kid.
