A prominent Alabama Republican says he hasn't decided which candidate he will vote for in the general election and he has no plans to endorse either the Republican or the Democrat.
"I'm not taking a side in the Democratic-Republican controversy right now," he said.
Only the Republican candidate in that controversy -- it wasn't Roy Moore he was talking about.
Rather, it was Roy Moore who was doing the talking.
The Republican then, in case you were wondering, was George W. Bush, running against John Kerry in 2004. That year, Alabama voters picked Bush over Kerry almost 2-to-1.
But when asked by a reporter in 2004 whom he planned to vote for, Moore wasn't so decisive. Instead, he was ambivalent.
"I haven't really had any connection with Kerry or Bush personally, other than the party affiliation that I have with the Republican Party," Moore said in 2004.
Maybe it's no big deal that, at one point in his life, Moore wasn't the ardent conservative he purports to be today. Like a lot of Alabama politicians, he had been a Democrat himself before switching to the GOP.
But this indecisiveness -- it lingered another four years, at least. In 2008, he couldn't make up his mind about John McCain or Barack Obama. When a reporter asked, he refused to say which candidate, if either, had won his vote.
Perhaps part of Moore's political identity crisis had to do with his flirtations with the Constitution Party, a flailing and failing third-party. Some of its members courted Moore to run as their candidate.
But in 2006, Moore ran for Alabama governor as a Republican, when he challenged Gov. Bob Riley in the GOP primary.
When Bush came to Alabama to stand beside Riley (who had supported him), Moore blasted the president for trying to interfere in an Alabama election.
Riley won that primary and went on to defeat Democratic nominee Lucy Baxley in the general election, but he didn't do it with Moore's help. Not only did Moore lose that primary, but he was a sore loser, refusing to endorse Riley.
Let me make something clear, I do not believe party loyalty should ever be absolute. If you're voting a straight ticket, you're probably doing something wrong. Just because someone wins your party's nomination, that doesn't mean you're obligated to support them.
But that's not the position of the Alabama Republican Party.
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey plans to vote for Roy Moore As nine women and others who were familiar with their stories have come forward to accuse Moore of sexual misconduct and assault, the Alabama GOP has sent a stern warning to its members -- hold the line or risk being kicked out of the party.
"It would be a serious error for any current elected GOP official or candidate to publicly endorse another party's candidate, an independent, a third party or a write-in candidate in the general election as well," Alabama Republican chairwoman Terry Lathan said in a statement earlier this month, although she softened her position when Sen. Richard Shelby told reporters he had voted for a write-in candidate.
I'm not taking a side in the Democratic-Republican controversy right now. Shelby is old enough to belong to the I-don't-give-a-damn-and-I'll-do-what-I-want wing of the party, but others aren't.
In addition to warning public officials about breaking ranks, Lathan has chided Young Republican groups for withdrawing support from Moore, calling them a "miniscule" part of the party that doesn't represent the Alabama GOP's base.
But perhaps no other Alabama official has thrown out her back while twisting in unprecedented acts of political contortionism like Gov. Kay Ivey.
In virtually the same breath, Ivey told the press that she had no reason to doubt Moore's accusers but that she still intended to vote for Moore because he's a Republican.
"I believe in the Republican Party and what we stand for," Ivey said.
But what does the party stand for, exactly?
Some have said it's about abortion, as Jones is pro-choice.
Others have said it's about the GOP agenda in Washington.
And also, the Supreme Court ...
And also, tax cuts ...
And also ... And also ... And also ...
But here's the thing. If Doug Jones is a baby-killer, then John Kerry and Barack Obama were, too.
But when much more was at stake for the GOP than in this Senate election, and at a time when abortion was more prevalent than it is today, where was Moore?
Moore refused to support the Republican nominee.
And all those other factors -- the GOP agenda, tax cuts, immigration -- they were up in the air, too, in 2004, 2006 and 2008.
But all these supposedly stark differences didn't matter to Moore then.
So why does Moore matter so much to the GOP now?

More "genius" level writing from the vastly overpaid Kyle Whitmire.

The Birmingham News has been on a rampage against Judge Roy Moore for many years, especially since their alleged lesbian editor took over as the main editor for the 3 largest newspapers in the state of Alabama and Judge Moore came out against sodomite marriage.
I’ve met her and she is VERY butch.
Kyle Whitmire is an effete “columnist” there (though he’s married) and he’s written with more vitriol against Judge Moore than anyone, with the possible exception of John “I forgot I declared bankruptcy and I’ve got a gay brother” Archibald.
They hate Judge Moore and they have made it clear that they do.
Their jobs are also dependent on pleasing their editor. Those 3 papers are owned by Advance and they have laid off over 40% of their employees in the past few years and now only print 3 days a week.
So you have lesbains and leftists calling the shots and maybe a couple of people who are afraid to speak out in fear of losing their jobs.
But this is a hate campaign of the highest order.

LIBERALS are so hysterical after they finally see
and understand the their end is near !
Aaron Klein asked:
The Republicans, McConnell and the establishment are in cahoots with this campaign ?
Does that not imply to you that the Republican Party, the Republican establishment, Mitch McConnell could care less about losing a senate seat in Alabama?
I think that is exactly a good description of what we have before us, Moore replied.
Asked what he believes McConnell is so afraid of when it comes to his candidacy,
Moore replied of his candidacy, I am not your typical Republican.
Not only do I believe in conservative fiscal issues, but I also believe in moral and conservative social issues.
I have stood for religious liberty and religious freedom
and these are subjects which Washington not only doesnt understandbut doesnt want to hear about.
Moore charged that Washingtonwould rather stop careers
than to hear about God and to understand thatour values and our rights come from God.
And the governments only role isto secure those inalienable rights for us.
They want somebody they can lead
basically, that they could control.
Well, I have never been controlled.
I do not want to be controlled
and I certainly will not be controlled when I come to Washington.
I will decide on issues independently by listening to my colleagues, discussing matters with them.
I will make up my own mind.
I think we need a change in Washington DC.And I will be part of that change.
It doesn't get any better than JUDGE Roy Moore !

My pleasure .... and you're welcome.
Read this:
ITS A FAKE!
Analyst Says Judge Roy Moore Signature Inside Gloria Allred Accusers Yearbook Was FORGED
The sevens in 1977 to the right of Christmas, are very different from the sevens in the date (12-22-77) above Old Hickory House.
Look at the two versions of the number 7, tweeted Wictor.
12-22-77 and Olde Hickory House were written by a different person, he added.
Next, [Thomas] Wictor points out the R and y in Roy, are not written the same way.
The inflection of the Y is more pronounced in Moore signature as Chief Justice. The R is noticeably longer in the signature of Chief Justice, as well.
During his legal career, Judge Moore became the first full-time Deputy District Attorney in Etowah County, Alabama, and served in this position from 1977 until 1982. In 1984, Judge Moore undertook private practice of law in Gadsden, Alabama, states Moores bio on his campaign website.
The accuser to this day calls him the District Attorney. He was NEVER District attorney. He was DEPUTY DA. DDA, says Wictor. ... "
Check out this little fact from
TheCipher Interesting revelation about the signature in the yearbook and where it probably came from.
Turns out Moore was the judge who ruled against Nelson in her divorce case and the signature is exactly how it was on his ruling - explains the D.A. ( which Nelson has ).
Nelson also said she never had contact with him since the "incident"and failed to mention he was the judge in her divorce case.Roy Moore Attorney Demands Gloria Allred Release Original Yearbook, Contends its a Fraud

Furthermore, after Moore's signature are the initials "D.A.," which Nelson and her attorney say represented were written by Moore because he was district attorney at the time.
But Moore was an assistant district attorney, Jauregui said,
And Moore can't recall ever signing his name with the letters "D.A." after it.
But he had seen it before, Jauregui said, when he was on the bench.
His assistant stamped his signature on papers and then put "D.A." on them, Jauregui said.
That's exactly how the signature appears on the divorce decree that Moore signed, he added.
That's the THIRD Spelling of his assistant.
WHICH ONE IS CORRECT ?

Judge Moore says he cant remember ever signing his name with DA after it.
But he had seen it before.
You know where he had seen it ?
When he was on the bench, his assistant whose initials are capital D. A. Delbra Adams would stamp his signature on a document and put capital D. A.
Thats exactly how this signature appears on the divorce decree that Judge Moore signed dismissing the divorce action of Beverly Nelson.

The more I search those different spellings of the assistant's name, the more I'm inclined to believe it was
Delbra Adams.
I get results for a

I also get results as a

Delbra Adams in Leesburg , AL. with a lot of A.K.A.s
Debra L Adams, Delbra M Adams, Debbie Adams, Debra Ly Adams, Delbra L Adams, Debble Adams, Debra Adams, Delbra Lynn Adams, Delbra L Admas

Didn’t vote for Bush the first time.
Didn’t vote for McCain.
First and second time in my life, I didn’t vote for the Republican on the ticket. I just left the spot vacant.
If someone wants to think this made me less of a Conservative, they just didn’t know Bush or McCain.
Two bigger Republican losers would be hard to find.

Since 2008, John McCain has completely vindicated Roy Moore. He has demonstrated repeatedly that he’s an unprincipled pr!ck who can’t be trusted to vote with the GOP even on issues that reflect his own ‘effing campaign promises.

I agree.
When he was passed over for severe measures for being the guy to have gotten the most money and favors from Keeting, it was a huge mistake.
We would have been rid of him and the nation woul dhave been protected from then on.

It sort of backfired on Whitmire. He’s desperately trying to keep his job and he hates Moore, so he’s really gasping at straws.
As if conservatives would care that Moore didn’t support McCain?

Of all the things to complain about, that Moore didn’t support John McCain.
I voted for Alan Keyes instead of Bush. Not sorry either.
