National reciprocity for concealed carry passed the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday is expected to receive a floor vote before the end of the year.
The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 was introduced by Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) on January 3, 2017. It changes federal law that so concealed carry permits are treated like drivers licenses, making a permit from one state valid in the other 49. This would fix the complicated and often confusing patchwork of concealed carry laws currently in effect throughout the country.
To put it simply, Hudsons bill allows the common man to defend himself and his family as he travels throughout this country.
On November 28 Breitbart News reported that Hudsons legislation was scheduled for a markup in the House Judiciary Committee and the markup would serve as the last stop before a floor vote.

I can't envision CA or NY or NYC ever allowing this.
Ryan stopped this, briefly, apparently, after Mandalay Bay. Looks like it is moving forward again. Hope so.
The verbiage in the bill itself is going to be critical. If there is anything in there that will still allow states like NJ to screw people with hollow point bullets, then it’s the typical crap sandwich we expect from republicans.
My state has constitutional carry, no permit needed.
If this passes I wonder if I could legally carry in other states if I have ID to prove I live in a CC state?
I fully expect the GOPe to betray us on gun rights next, any legislation from them needs to be gone over with a “fine tooth comb” ...
No sign or law....will stop me from protecting me and mine.
A very reliable source has informed me that Graham, McCain, Flake and Collins have already voted no in the Senate.
Perhaps we’ll get lucky and Roy Moore will be sworn in as the Junior Senator from Alabama before the Senate floor vote.
Now, if McTurdle could just get his head outta his ass...
I’m willing to bet it will be like the current system. If you want to carry in non-CC states, you’ll need a permit.
Psst...carry is carry.
but the gun laws in a state would still apply right? for instance, if i bring my g17 with a 17rd mag to nyc they would still arrest me for having a standard capacity mag?
This could be our Trojan Horse to eliminate mag capacity restrictions.
In 1849 many CC & OC NY`ers went to the California Gold Rush. Coming from NYC on a ship, then up the Mississippi via riverboat, it was commonplace on that riverboat for EVERYONE to carry a pistol, even the 10-12-16 year old kids who worked as servants on the riverboat.
It`s in the record archives. No CC or Oc permits/licenses need then.
One can see the erosion of the 2nd up to now.
viz:
1849:
“One morning I was in the wash room there were two citizens of Arkansas in it washing; by their conversation I found one was a United States Senator the other a United States Representative. There were eight or twelve cabin boys waiters on the boat; the Senator called one to him and asked him to bring him some clean towels; all these boys were armed with pistols and knives; the boy looked at
the Senator with perfect indignation and said, “You go to Hell, God damn you if you want towels go and get them. The boy left with an air of having been insulted.
After his departure the Senator turned to the Congressman with a laugh and said “I like that that’s the kind of boys we raise in Arkansas and just what our people should encourage.”

Ain’t gonna happen, folks!
Trump should ask both house and senate to pass and send this simple legislation to him before Christmas break.
THX
Hell, my NYS CCW permit isn’t valid in NYC, yet an NYC CCW permit is valid in upstate.
If this were to pass, and get signed, one wonders how long it would be before they (Cuomo and Schneiderman) were in court before a friendly judge who would say it’s (wait for it..) unconstitutional.
Don't confuse upstate NY with NYC and its suburban counties. I and many people I know have an unrestricted concealed carry permit. The permit process is not that hard. And most county sheriffs, who are responsible for issuing permits, are very pro 2nd Amd.

Or Maryland, or Massachusetts, or Connecticut or New Jersey........who did I leave out????
