Santa Monica College will move forward with a plan to transform a popular computer lab into a social justice center despite a petition signed by hundreds of students.
According to The Stringer, the proposal to construct the Social Justice and Gender Equity Center was spearheaded by Dr. Nancy Grass, Dean of Student Life, and would cost a total of $500,000, including $60,000 for a “computer lab update.”

When I went to Indiana University from 1977-1981, I thought it was pretty liberal/leftist then. But I am so glad I did not attend college today. If the IU administration had proposed something like this in 1980, we students would have lampooned the program. Any student who wanted to avail themselves of the “social justice center” would have been ruthlessly mocked. And deservedly so.
So, if you are a white straight male you will be barred from accessing the “safe space” because you may trigger something or other in someone else. I’m sure there will be a whole host of other categories excluded, such as being prolife or a Trump supporter. Or being a republican or conservative. But your student fees will pay for it.

The school authorities are delusional if they think that indulging social justice warrior fragility will long soothe their tender emotions.
