Friday’s bloodthirsty attack on a mosque in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula during noontime prayers was a crime against all humanity. It wasn’t “just” an attack on Muslims. It was an attack on all of us who believe in civilization, tolerance and decency. At least 235 peaceful worshippers died, with more than 100 wounded.
One is tempted to call it the work of beasts, but no creature in the animal kingdom behaves with such avid, calculated cruelty.
Yet, the attack can be explained — though the explanation only makes it worse.
Islamist fanatics struck with bombs and automatic weapons, slaughtering first the faithful, then first responders. The reversed ratio of dead to wounded (usually more are wounded than killed) tells us how potent the explosions were and how carefully the attack had been planned and executed.
And it was no coincidence that the al-Rawdah Mosque was frequented by Sufis, the mystical, tolerant strain of Islam that finds joy, rather than a slavemaster, in its deity. Sufism has been the spiritual home of poets, such as Rumi or Hafez Shirazi. Sufi orders embraced music and even dance as expressions of faith. Sufis venerate saints, and some of their beloved figures quite liked wine. Sufi orders differ, as do Christian denominations, but none threatens the world with terror these days.
The greatest sheiks of Sufism had more in common with Catholic mystics, such as St. John of the Cross, or Protestants like Emanuel Swedenborg, than with the punitive, barracks-discipline Wahhabism funded by Saudi Arabia and enforced by terrorists. If you crossed a Quaker with an Episcopalian, with a soundtrack of Catholic plainchant, you’d get something like a Sufi.
In Judaism, the closest equivalent would be the Hasidim and the transcendent warmth they discover in God.

So was the attack on the Trade Center. So was the attack on the Pentagon. And the London bus systems. And the Madrid train station. And the Bali nightclub. And the hundreds of other barbaric attacks by these savages against anything that moves.

Sufis are the Unitarians of the Muslim world, killed by Shia and Suni alike. They’ve been mass-murdered like this for centuries. It is also proof that Islam is NOT peaceful and wouldn’t make the world peaceful if everyone converted to Islam ... sectarian violence is part and parcel of the faith.
Sufis and Almaddhi (Mormons of the Islamic world) were among the major Muslim immigrants to the West after World War 2 and probably why the EU had a positive view of Islam and their ability to immigrate. British subjects who fled a Pakistan when Almaddhiya was denounced by the constitution were very loyal British subjects. Their kids who were taught an Islamic identity by multicultural Britain and Saudi funded mosques became terrorists. And the EU wonders “what happened?”
Formal Islam rejects music and dance as the call of the devil barring spoken word poetry / chants.
Sufis engage in music, one reason why they are hated by other Muslims.
I’m not underestimating them.
Simply saying that if the west still believed in its values like the Islamists believe in theirs, Islam would have never been allowed to gain a foothold here.
Instead the postmodern leftists with their nihilistic and suicidal multiculturalism and “diversity” are putting out the red carpet for cultures that want to destroy the west, while also working overtime demoralizing us from within.
It sounds good until this line which shows the man does not know what he talks about. He is accepting the left/Jihadist definition of self-defense against murderous Moslems intent on killing off the citizens of the country they have invaded as some sort of racist atrocity.

Islam is a barbaric throwback to a dark and distant time in human history. It has NO pace in the modern world.

My reading comprehension ability usually serves me well, but my dumb comment shows that I just skimmed much too fast.
It’s not even a legitimate religion, I don’t care how many people are doing it. If anything, it’s a form of government (and a very bad one at that).

The West barely survived Islam’s incursions, at Tours, Lepanto and Vienna. And that was when the West had actual values and strong men willing to fight.
Even so, they were not strong enough in Christian Anatolia / Turkey, Egypt, North Africa, Persia, India, etc etc.
For 1,400 years, the neighbors of Islam have underestimated the power of it’s koranic conquest plan, as inbred feral barbarians have invaded (by force or migration) and conquered one strong, brave, proud, intelligent and wealthy nation after another.
