One tradition we don't have in this country is some cable channel running a marathon of the WKRP in Cincinnati "Turkey Drop" episode. As much as I enjoy "A Christmas Story" and "It's A Wonderful Life", that WKRP episode was pure comic genius and deserves a new audience generation.

We quit inviting lefties and spoil sports to our home for most all group family dinners, including but not limited to Thanksgiving,

However, it was they who actually chose to quit coming, for we had such things as family prayers (we always did but since they became “enlightened,” they could no longer tolerate God and Jesus being our Guests of Honor, they just couldn’t stomach that any more, that and we all, to a person except the spoil sports, kept insulting Barack Hussein Obama, and then Hillary Rodam Clinton!)

Back in the day... when we had extended family holiday dinners, no one brought up politics. I guess it was because so many in the family had jobs that they couldn’t really discuss. That being said, my Mom (and now me) would have asked someone to leave if they started a verbal argument over dinner. I think Mom’s rant would have started like, “I spent all week cleaning, baking, dusting, mopping, ironing the linens...” and would have ended like, “you and the horse you rode in on”. (that was Mom’s use of cuss words. My response would be more on the dirty side....

Our lives are too short to allow those, who hate us and our beliefs into our homes.

Unfortunately, some of them are our kids, grandkids, sisters or brothers. As I said they uninvited themselves, or stayed to eat then made a speedy exit.

The good Lord tells me to love them but not necessarily like nor approve of their sinful lifestyles, thus our doors are open in Christian love but most of the most hardened hearts don’t come and we offer up prayers for them, clearly understanding it’s up to them and the Lord, whether or if they have a heart change.
