A Virginia school board chairman is getting attention on social media for his comments on President Donald Trump and standing for the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem
Ryan Sawyers, who is Chairman of the Prince William County School Board, said in a tweet on Monday: "Your are not required to stand for the national anthem or pledge. There will be no action taken against you for choosing to not stand or participate. Our President is a bonafide idiot but you are safe in PWCS."
Attention PWCS students and staff. Your are not required to stand for the national anthem or pledge. There will be no action taken against you for choosing to not stand or participate.
Our President is a bonafide idiot but you are safe in PWCS. https://t.co/GMO1NIWYAa — Ryan Sawyers (@RyanSawyersVA) November 20, 2017
Sawyers spoke to FOX5's Paul Wagner, and says he didn't expect his tweet to get the attention that it did.

I’m guessing Mr. Sawyer is a Maryland transplant.
Ryan Sawyer is running for congress in 2018.
That seems about right.
More like the libs are concentrated in Northern Virginia, which is home to quite a few Fed Gov employees.
He needs to be fired immediately. Hes a disgrace to civility and a bad example for students.
Our President is a bonafide idiot but you are safe in PWCS.”
Yes, you are a county school official, and President Trump is an idiot who has amassed billions, and beat the most qualified candidate ever. Some idiot!
If you require people to pledge allegiance when they don’t choose to do so, the loyalty to that which they pledge is greatly in question. In a free country where we value liberty and freedom of political thought and speech, there is no place to require fealty except at naturalization ceremonies.
Not really. Most of the PWCS is inundated with MS-13 types. Massive El Sal and other illegal populations in Manassas and Woodbridge.
Yeah right. I would swear that local news stated yesterday that this man was also running for Congress for 2018. Does the article mention that too? The a** should be made to resign, or if not, then be fired, so he can devote himself to politics full-time.
He’s eating up the publicity. Did you notice that this looneytoon has announced for congress?

“I am running for Congress in Virginia’s First Congressional District because its time to fight for the American family values that I was raised on. Where I grew up we knew it was wrong to let our neighbors go bankrupt because of medical bills. We know that our neighbors who work full time deserve to be paid a fair wage so that all hard-working American families can put a roof over their head and food on their table. We need to ensure that the Chesapeake Bay is kept clean for future generations of Virginians and that our farmlands arent destroyed by unrestrained energy companies. We need to protect and defend those who are building their American dream regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or who they love.
I am running for Congress because it is time that we fight for those values for Virginias First Congressional District.”
So, is he an ungrateful?
Self satisfied idiot. Thanks for the link.
Good God, the speed at which my state has gone to sh*t is absolutely stunning.
I heard part of an interview with another school board member on WMAL. She said that in addition to this tweet about Trump, he’s been using his position to promote his Congressional campaign.
He also had missed four of the last six board meetings, and she was trying to figure out how to get him removed.
What’s grammatically incorrect about what he said?
"Your" should be "you"
Easy to miss...
