Tom Cotton won't speculate about expelling Roy Moore if he's elected:
Washington Examiner ^ | November 19, 2017 | Kyle Feldscher

Posted on 11/19/2017 1:16:34 PM PST by Kaslin

Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton refused to speculate about what the Senate should do if Roy Moore wins his Senate race in Alabama after being accused of sexually harassing and assaulting multiple women.

Cotton, a Republican, said it’s up to the people of Alabama to decide if that’s the kind of man they want representing them in the Senate.

“As far as Roy Moore goes, I'm not going to speculate about what may happen should he win. We're three weeks out from the election, he made it pretty clear this week that he's not going to step aside … it’s up to the people of Alabama to make that decision,” Cotton said on CBS’ “Face The Nation.”

National Republican Senate Committee Chairman and Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner said last week the Senate should expel Moore if he’s elected.

Cotton said that could be a possibility, but proper Senate process must be followed.

“That will be an important decision if the people of Alabama will make,” Cotton said about Moore coming to the Senate.

“Again, if he comes to the Senate because the people of Alabama elect him and someone files a complaint with the Senate Ethics Committee, as they have done with Al Franken, it’s up to the Ethics Committee and all the individual senators to make a decision based on their findings and recommendations.”

I’ll just note that when his first wife and he got divorced in ~1980, his first wife went to Mass. to be a Prof. of Wymyns’ Studies at Smith College.

Who knows what he did until 1993 when he married into a mainland Chinese extended fam.

You can google it yourself.

There's absolutely no serious evidence for the rumor.

So I guess it's going to be hard to refute.

The phrase “the type of man they want to represent them...” was not in quotes. Did cotton say that or was that editor’s privilege? The actually quotes cotton said look reasonable but that one phrase without quotes presumes guilt.

.
Do you agree with Cotton that Roy Moore is “that kind of man?”

Cotton needs to step aside immediately.

Good point. I was just reading an article that said it was Jackie Speier that broke the news about the payoffs.

“Congress created the Office of Compliance to protect itself from being exposed,” Speier charged at the press conference. “And it has been very successful.”

I know she’s a dem, but I have to thank her for getting the info out on this. Wish one of our side had done it. :(

It would be nice to hear someone say, “We don’t rig our elections

Oh really? WHAT do you think Mitch and the boys are trying to DO in Alabama, anyway?

Let's not forget DC's Marion Barry, who was caught in the act doing cocaine, arrested, sent to prison, and then RE-ELECTED after getting out of prison.

Reading it again — the 2nd paragraph is NOT in quotes. It appears the author or editor took upon themselves to come up with that statement. I see no evidence in that article that Cotton actually said “it’s up to the people of Alabama to decide if that’s the kind of man they want representing them in the Senate”. This statement insinuates Moore is guilty.

This is a sneaky little trick many authors & editors use to insert their opinions into an article.

If Roy Moore wins the election, Mitch can’t stop him from taking his seat, but could immediately move to have him expelled—with all of the Democrats and RINOs voting to expel, he might get to 66 votes. Then the governor of Alabama could appoint Moore’s wife to the seat.

Franken’s too obvious. Ask him about the senators that needed the “secret sex abuse clam-up payout fund”.

Thanks for the link. I’ve got to admit it was Trump that got me started watching politics, back in ‘83 not so much. Think I’ve got a lot of catching up to do. :)

Mitch needs to be expelled for his short Military “service”.

Rear guard action.

Don't you need a charge that has occurred while in the Senate to be removed?
