Sunday, November 12th, I joined fellow veterans in their national boycott of the NFL. However, I do not sense that thousands tuning out the games made much of a difference. NFL players and management still display a screw-you-America attitude. America hating Leftists never back off or surrender ground.
As a matter of fact, to continue poking a finger in the eye of normal Americans, Leftist rag GQ magazine outrageously named Colin Kaepernick its Citizen of the Year. Kaepernick is the player who started NFL players shamefully kneeling during our national anthem. Sports media instantly declared Kaepernick, a mediocre quarterback, a hero. And yet, sports media is obsessed with pressuring an NFL team to hire Kaepernick.
NFL players have been fooled into believing their protest is about fairness and justice. These young men are clueless that Leftists view them as useful idiots in their long-term plan to bring down America economically, culturally, and globally.
Leftists say, "We hate this country because America is unjust; founded on racism and bigotry. America is the greatest source of evil on the planet. So screw your traditional family values. Screw traditional marriage. Screw capitalism. Screw your sacred institutions of Christian faith. Screw free speech. Screw your constitutional right to protect yourself. Screw your philosophy of education, hard work and making right choices to achieve success." We've allowed Leftists to fill our kids' heads with this negative view of their homeland for decades.
Leftists have taught our kids that because we have stolen so much of the world's resources, it is only fair that we erase our borders to allow the world to feed on the breast of America; non-Americans coming and going as they please. Screw immigration laws. Screw vetting for diseases and criminal intentions.

“Lloyd Marcus, The Unhyphenated American”
A very good article.
I cross link to the article below, because Mr. Lloyd Marcus explains why we do not have enough in common anymore.
“Do Conservatives And Liberals Have Enough in Common to Keep A Country Together Anymore?”

This guy misses the whole point of the so-called "boycott" of the NFL.
1. I've said for weeks that the idea of staging a one-day boycott of the NFL on Veteran's Day weekend was silly. Anyone who would have been inclined to do such a thing had already walked away from the NFL weeks ago, if not earlier.
2. Anyone who staged a one-day boycott of the NFL over the antics of the players is a phony and a loser. If you were really that principled, you wouldn't have waited until November 12th to do it.
3. There is no boycott of the NFL, period. The term "boycott" implies that the behavior of the customers will change if something changes to their satisfaction on the part of the business (the NFL, in this case). Nobody who has stopped watching NFL games over the national anthem protest idiocy is ever coming back.
Perhaps we should rethink the entire concept of spectator sports.
If we’re spectating, we’re not doing anything useful.
Americans have made their mark upon the world by doing, not by watching other people do things.
You are entitled to your opinion, as is Lloyd Markus.
You do not change leftists.
Like a deadly virus, the only cure is to destroy them.
My point is that schools don’t teach grammar
The protests aren’t killing the NFL. The game has become a referee-focused bore. The players run around the field like children on steroids, which is what they are.
The level of play has declined. The referees look like rodeo clowns trying to haze bulls out of the way so they can continue play.
I stopped watching out of boredom almost 3 years ago.
“In fact, I wish colleges and universities would stop offering athletic scholarships to first year students. Real students should be able to get in on their own. There is more than enough grant and loan money for real students to get into school.”
I do too, but even in the State Universities and Colleges, the athletic department is the highest-paid bunch on campus. Someone posted a national chart here showing who the highest-paid individual in each state’s government is. In a majority of cases, the position was “University Football Coach, or Athletic Director.” We are so seriously upside down in our thinking today, it’s a wonder the country is surviving. But then, maybe it really isn’t.
Here it is, found it, take a look and weep:

The protests ARE killing then NFL. Left wing politics and disrespect to the flag are what keeps the stands empty.
Since I haven't watched any NFL games this season, I really do not know if there is an effect from the boycott.
Are players still kneeling or sitting out Our National Anthem?
(Might there be a website that keeps a reliable tally on this?)
If I were an advertiser, I might be looking for other programming or even media to target my ad money, as I suspect that we NFL snubbers are a valuable demo.
If I were a collegiate (or even younger) football player with a possible NFL future, I might feel let down. Thus, young players in the NFL pipeline might be looking at other career choices (which could be good for them in the longer run, anyhoo.)
Good comment....
There is a certain percentage of the population who, like myself, quit the NFL fan-base well over a year ago. I won’t return and work against the culture it contains in other ways as well.
The significant issue at hand is the recognition of how soviet style the leftist movement is in education, broadcasting, sports and entertainment.
As the recent ESPN asshole pointed out, it is laughable in his mind to think we can unplug in enough numbers to hamper their gravy train guaranteed by the cable structure. We can’t really impact NPR as it is tied to university funding, we can’t impact Hollywood leftists as they keep each other employed. They weasel themselves into control of education at the very top.
I relish the fight, but I am becoming more like Whitaker Chambers in my pessimism.
Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!
True,I’ve been watching top twenty college games and they’re better without the B.S.!
The boycott of attending ANY NFL games, watching ANY NFL games, buying ANY NFL merchandise, supporting ANY NFL sponsors, watching ANY previous or post NFL shows, reading ANY NFL related news articles is having a tremendous effect, is taking a monumental toll and is costing the NFL and EVERYONE associated with the NFL HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS A WEEK!
The NFL is suffering from a self-induced case of FINANCIAL EBOLA! The NFL is bleeding money out of every conceivable orifice TO THE TUNE OF HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS A WEEK WITH NO WAY OUT AND NO END IN SIGHT. That sounds extremely effective to me and to everyone else who has a modicum of sense.
As another Freeper put it: it doesn't appear to be having an effect because the NFL had a cushion of money to absorb the financial losees. But that financial reserve is drying up incredibly fast and they no it and most importantly, it is costing them a fortune!
Just think, ALL of those thousands upon thousands of empty seats; many of those empty seats are held by season ticket holders who will NEVER BUY SEASON TICKETS AGAIN. Talk about hundreds of millions of dollars in FUTURE lost revenue, and that is just one example.
Teams and ticket holders are literally giving away thousands of tickets or selling them at bargain basement prices just to try and fill seats, and NFL stadiums all over the country look like ghost towns.
Don't believe "the big lie". The NFL boycott is winning and they all know it
Haha!
Someone needs to tell Lloyd Marcus a boycott does not work over night. It will take years because there is a lot of money, but we can see the boycott is working.
All you have to do is look at all the NFL stadiums. A year ago you would see almost all NFL games either sold out or close to it. Today you see lots of empty seats.
Check out the ratings too. They are down too. Even Papa John’s Pizza CEO is saying it’s hurting their sales.
Anyway, the NFL in 3 years will be doing major restructuring of their contracts. 10 years from now very few people will be following them compared to today. 20 years from now the NFL will be gone.
When people look back what caused the NFL to collapse. It will be this moment.
Personally I think this is a good thing for our country.
The boycotts are hurting, but they are just part of the problem for the NFL. The TV ratings have been on a steady decline and they haven’t accelerated this season, just continued as they have for the last few years.
Game attendance is down, but mainly where the teams are lousy, not just where the players protest.
I’m all for the boycott though, it’s fine with me and if I hadn’t stopped watching before they started, I would have stopped as a result of the protests.
I've posted this before but, twenty years ago, my cousin taught English at LSU. Her only job there was to (in her words) "teach black football players to read and write".
Folks, this is hurting them.
ESPN is reeling from the impact.
Advertisers are getting fidgety.
Sales at the stadium concessions are feeling the impact.
The likeability of the NFL has tanked.
This is MSM propaganda. Let them keep putting on a happy face as they go under the waves. Suits me just fine.
