JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A tearful Corrine Brown made her plea to the court Thursday afternoon, asking the judge to consider all she has done in her life and to show mercy and compassion.
Brown, 71, was convicted in May of 18 counts of conspiracy, fraud and filing false tax returns. She said those charges run contrary to everything she's ever done in her life, and that she considers her decades of public service an honor and a privilege.

They painted a vastly different picture of the woman prosecutors described as greedy and corrupt in their efforts to ensure Brown spends time behind bars.
One Brown supporter told Corrigan that for the lead prosecutor to describe Brown in such terms shows that he doesn't know her.
Supporters who said they do know Brown called her:

The government filed documents that said Brown chose to ridicule the American system of justice and rule of law both pre- and post-conviction.
The same document said that Brown stooped so low as to state that if the Jacksonville FBI had not spent resources investigating her fraudulent conduct, then the Pulse nightclub tragedy in Orlando on June 12, 2016 would not have occurred.
look at that pic. Money poorly spent
She’s a convicted felon and still Dems still stand with her. At least one sitting Dem Congresswoman gave testified as a character witness. Isn’t that amazing?
