On Thursday Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX), Chris Murphy (D-CT), and Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) announced a new gun control bill which centers on background checks for gun purchases. The bill was also signed by Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Orrin Hatch (R-UT), and Dean Heller (R-NV). Fox News Congressional reporter Chad Pergram tweeted that the bill is designed to Âstrengthen the background check system in the wake of the Texas church attack. ==snip= Murphy is ecstatic. He tweeted that the legislation is the most significant gun law promoted since Sen. Joe Manchin (D-NW) pushed universal background checks as a response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School attack: "" Chris Murphy ï²Verified accountï @ChrisMurphyCT The Fix NICS Act is the most important piece of bipartisan guns legislation since Manchin-Toomey. 4 Dems, 4 Republicans. Reforms aren't window dressing. Big deal. 9:45 AM - Nov 16, 2017 ""

And each of these Progressives has a security detail.
less and less compliance by the American people..the more illegal ‘laws’ and ‘regulations’ these Aholes try to impose
this is not good for our system of representative governance
not good at all
What is wrong with Cornyn? Did he grow in office?
DOA
Cornyn is finished.
“Quick! The Democrat Party is in the crapper! Do something! Anything!”
Whew, at least our party has control in the Senate.
L O L
Lets see how McGonner screws this up.
I hope you’re right. What happens to these clowns after they spend time in office? Mental retardation?
these are the same GOPe who live by the “magic words” philosophy of elections. Say anything and do whatever in office. They are shocked when voting actually matters.
Cornholio is as corksucker.
Article starts with massive-font “John Cornyn, Chris Murphy, Dianne Feinstein Announce Gun Control Bill” title, immediately followed by a picture of Feinstein pointing at a picture (bump stock) having absolutely nothing to do with the bill (background checks).
Presumably the same “background checks” that apply to the rest of the Bill Of Rights.
Background check doesn’t mean a thing if the government bureaucracy can’t keep accurate records, and they have proven that they can’t.
Cornyn, that ba$tard again.
They didn’t follow the existing background check gun laws with the church shooting. The USAF didn’t follow the law.
So instead of going after THEM, we get more laws.
Screw the GOP for bringing up a gun law when we are needing them more than ever, and when they haven’t funded the wall, cut taxes, or repealed Obamacare.
anti-american assholes.
Especially these last 2 shootings, the govt had completely dropped the ball. Guys that had NO BUSINESS having guns HAD THEM.
And they STILL want to pile more anti gun laws on us!?
F THEM!!!!!!!!!!!
Enough already. We have all the laws that are needed. It’s the Big Daddy Feds who drop the ball. Not worth spit...
Cornyn has always been one to vote with whatever the daily fad is. Anything to do to get his name in the headlines. He’s an embarrassment to Texas and only gets votes because of name recognition.
I thought Obama quadrupled background checks
I’ve only skimmed over the bill itself, but on the surface, it appears that all it does is place more requirements on federal and state agencies to report criminals into the NICS system. It doesn’t appear to affect lawful gun owners or lawful firearms purchases.
