Mother of Roy Moore Accuser: Washington Post Reporters Convinced My Daughter to Go Public
Big Journalism ^ | 11/12/17 | Aaron Klein

Posted on 11/12/2017 6:40:58 PM PST by markomalley

The mother of Leigh Corfman, who says that Alabama Senatorial Candidate Roy Moore tried to engage in a sexual encounter with her when she was 14, told Breitbart News that the Washington Post worked to convince her daughter to give an interview about the allegations against Moore.

Speaking by phone to Breitbart News on Saturday, Corfman’s mother, Nancy Wells, 71, further stated that her daughter would not have come forward if it weren’t for The Post reporter’s alleged actions.

Corfman went public with her accusations against Moore in a Washington Post interview published last week in which she alleged that Moore attempted to initiate sexual contact with her in 1979 when she was 14. Three other women between the ages of 16 and 18 claim that when Moore was in his 30s, he attempted to court them or that he dated them.  The current age of consent in Alabama is 16.

Moore has strongly denied the accusations. He has questioned the timing of The Post’s story, which was dropped mere weeks before the December 12 election.

Corfman’s mother, Wells, told Breitbart News that reporters for the Washington Post convinced her daughter to give them an interview.

“She did not go to them,” said Wells. “They called her.”

“They tried to convince her to do it?” this reporter asked.

“Yes,” replied Wells, matter-of-factly.

Do girls ever lie about their age?

Reminds me of a case back in the late 80's or early 90's. There was an Ohio congressman that was found dating a minor. He thought she was over 21 ( she looked it ). Both the minor and her mother encouraged the dating. The mother lied to the congressman. This was an attempt at blackmail.

Could be they just looked up divorce cases from the period when he was working to see if there were any with kids involved, then looked through those to see whatever became of those kids to find out if any had trouble or debt they could offer to fix. Desperate people might welcome some under the counter cash- same thing the Russians KGB used to do to find a useful mark willing to spy for them- first fiind debt or bad habits.

She would have been a jackpot with multiple marriages and the bad check and especially if they found a drug addiction, too.

There would be no need for any actual contact, just the need for them to be in the same building at the time. The other two women with whom nothing uncivil happened are just there to provide the appearance -to people who only read headlines- that there was a “pattern” so the first gal would not be summarily dismissed due to her problems.

But think about it...they dug all the way back to 1979 and that’s the very best they could do for a “scandal?”

I do not think the information in this Breitbart story helps Moore’s cause.

And it’s the second one like that. The first was the one where the accuser didn’t have a private phone line in her bedroom at 14. Aha! But no. The mom admitted she did have a phone that reached to her room, on the family line. And the mom not only backed up the story but explained how Moore groomed her first, to be alone with her daughter. I thought it was dumb of Breitbart to push that one.

Washington Post Reporters Convinced My Daughter to Go Public

In other words, they paid her to go public.

That’s a very good point. The women has a history of bad behavior, drugs in particular. They could easily have something on her concerning drugs, and are threatening to report her to the police?

“Money has a way of convincing people”

It sure does. And just how many billions of dollars are unaccounted for post-Obama/Hillary?

Billions, or is it trillions?

It is an act of God that Trump won.

This is the one who said Moore called her on her own phone in her bedroom. Mother said she didn’t have a phone in her bedroom at that age.

The “current” age of consent in Alabama has no bearing on this case. What was the age of consent in 1979?

Has to be lower than 16 or they would not be using the “current” one.

It doesn’t make any sense. How does a reporter even find anyone that will make the accusation? Somebody initiated the contact. A reporter from the Compost does not show up in Gadsden, Alabama and “Hey Presto”, so called “molestation victims” from 40 years ago suddenly knock on the motel room door. This story is a bunch of tripe!

It suggests that there was actually some contact between Moore and the girl in the 70s.

How do you figure that?

It only suggests that they trolled a wad of cash through a trailer park and found a slutwhore that would say anything for a payoff.

If the fourteen year old from a broken home had an experience with any older man it would be easy to transfer that to the accusation against the Judge now, to make her story plausible to idiots and liberals, "but I repeat myself" to quote Twain.

Back in 1979, she would not have had a separate line in her room unless her parents were well-to-do and indulgent. But she very well might have had an extension on the family's main (or likely only) number.

So, ringggg! Silence. Mom concludes daughter is talking to one of her friends.

Except, Mom told Breitbart she didn't have a phone [extension] in her bedroom. Oops!

Kinda like proportional fonts in 1973. They got most of the details right, but they missed one. I mean, today, proportional fonts, like personal phones, are everywhere. But not then!

Whoa! Did you just call someone a “McCain?”

Easy there. That’s the lowest, meanest, downright dirty thing you can do!

Hell, dog poop would be better...

To be fair, I think if I had to choose one, I might rather be called McCain than Lindsey Graham.

On the female side, I think "Hillary" will long be in a class by itself.
