Claim: Woman Says She Was Offered Big Money to Accuse Roy Moore of Misconduct

As allegations that Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore had sexual contact with an underage girl almost 40 years ago roil the nationally watched race, other reports have surfaced that are taking the whole story into even more bizarre directions.

On Thursday, The Washington Post reported allegations about an incident that allegedly took place in 1979 between then 32-year-old Moore and a 14-year-old girl.

Now, a Twitter user identified as Doug Lewis, whose Twitter profile portrays him as a supporter of President Donald Trump and a Navy veteran, posted on the social media site that a family friend had contacted him regarding the situation.

The unidentified woman reportedly told Lewis that a Washington Post reporter — identified only as “Beth” — had offered her a substantial sum of money to accuse the GOP candidate of wrongdoing.

Right you are! Play it close. You don’t give the other side the opportunity to destroy evidence, concoct alibis, split, etc.

CNN actually covered this story this morning. Their response is that the way the money was listed in the Twitter post (”1000$” with the “$” after the amount) is the way Russians type amounts of money. This story did have that ‘Wouldn’t it be great IF” ring to it, that we’ve seen from so many of these unsubstantiated conspiracy claims lately, that unfortunately it made me skeptical from the beginning.

Who knows, and hopefully there is a recording. But it almost sounds too good to be true, so it could be there is a coordinated effort to float endless incorrect conspiracies out there, so that none are believed, just as it was years ago, before so many were actually turning out to be true. So they’re poisoning the well.

The Washington Post should cease and desist publishing until this accusation is resolved.

“We need to have Doug Lewis’ bona fides validated.”

I agree.

But regarding the “$1000 not 1000$”

The quote from Doug Lewis on twitter is: “A family friend who lives in Alabama just told my wife that a WAPO reporter named Beth offered her 1000$ to accuse Roy Moore????” Here, if the offer was exactly $1000, then yes, the $ should be in front; but if the quote was for multiple thousands of dollars, then I might place the $ after 1000. Shorthand for plural 1000$.

I'm not talking about the accusations, I'm talking about there being someone claiming they were offered big money, as being the set up.

As far the accusations leveled against Roy Moore, it certainly has the odor of being conceived from whole cloth for political reasons, and that Dems, RINOs, or never-trumpers (are any combination thereof) could be behind these accusations.

Again, what would they (the 3 groups mentioned above) hope to gain by floating a false story about a reporter offering money for salacious dirt on Roy Moore?

So yes, I was serious. If you can provide an answer as to the benefit they enjoy by planting a false story about being offered money to create false salacious accusations, then perhaps I will change my mind that them being behind that aspect is a far reach.

That is exactly what could be the reason for writing it that way. I too questioned that format when I first read it yesterday, and came to the conclusion that he indeed meant it to be a pluralization along with defining it as an offer for money. Thus it served a dual purpose. This kind of communication has become all too common anymore, and just as often leads to confuse. That is, until such time as it becomes common usage for that shorthand format.

The original accusations can indeed be from any number of entities that want to see Roy Moore damaged beyond repair, including the GOPe. But I still see no advantage gained with this claim that counters the veracity of the original accusations by anyone other than a Trump supporter who is also fed up with the GOPe. Thus my comment regarding this claim being a set up by ones who are visibly delighted by these accusations.

I think I already answered that. It’s called DESPERATION as I do believe many good things are happening behind the scenes these days to take back DC for the American people.

You’ll have to come to the realization, they are all of the same cabal or swamp. The patriotic Constitional-abiding American citizens have very little representation in the DC swamp these days as it gets proved over and over again by both sides of the aisle and the complicit enemedia.

I mentioned earlier that would be good IF true but I also mentioned the mother of the accuser has already shot holes in her daughter’s story, per a Breitbart story. The whole thing is already falling apart, before this, for the accuser and the coordinated DC swamp behind it. It reeks of desperation by the DC swamp to keep another outsider out of their cabal.

I’m so glad the good people of Alabama is not falling for it but the enemedia’s credibility was already shot before that so all they have is DESPERATION at this point.

thousands of dollars: 1000$

one thousand dollars - exactly: $1000

[although I would have done thousands of dollars like this: $1000s; but that is me.]

The fact he puts the dollar sign after the amount says to me it's not an American. Plenty of countries put it after (1,000€), but not in the United States.

Foreign troll who can't disguise himself well.

I knew that was happening. First, they set up the “me too” horse$hit. Then they start bringing down one after another. Then they move in on the real target, Republicans. Many people will say or do anything for the right amount of money. Plus, they get recognition and invitations to airhead TV dipstick talk shows.
