One of Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore's most prominent backers pulled his support Friday evening in the wake of sexual assault allegations against the former state Supreme Court chief justice.
Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, posted on Twitter that "having read the detailed description of the incidents, as well as the response from Judge Moore and his campaign, I can no longer endorse his candidacy for the U.S. Senate."

Very disappointing to see Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, failing to support "innocent until proven guilty" in this case.
There are many holes in the unfounded allegations, especially coming from the disgraced and corrupt Washington Post.

When unproven allegations are thrown at a republican candidate who is outside the GOPe power structure only weeks before an election he is expected to win what do they do?
They rush to judgement and don’t show any interest in waiting for facts or proof.
Have any of them stopped to consider the timing of these allegations and the appearance that the attacks by multiple accusers look to be coordinated to negatively affect the election prospects of Moore?

Republicans could learn something from Democrats in this regard.
Democrats never turn their back on one of their own, until and unless the arrest warrant is signed and the miscreant is hauled off to jail. Otherwise, as long as the Democrat toes the line, other Dems will protect him.
On the other hand, Democrats know that Republicans will drop support at the slightest hint of an allegation, regardless of whether existence exists. And they use that knowledge to repeatedly attack strong Republican candidates to erode support just enough to dissuade voters from showing up.
I think we are improving a tiny bit—the Dems did the same to Trump, and continue to try to smear him with false allegations. But we still support him. We—both voters and representatives—need to learn to demand credible evidence before dropping our support, any time there is an allegation.
The problem is that Roy can’t say “of course Id date an 18 year old” and then deny the 14 year old story. People will think he did all of it. Besides hannity I don’t know anyone who would care if two consenting adults dated. Plus from her own admission Roy only kissed her twice.
Maybe he is a crypto-GOPe guy. There are plenty of fake conservatives in the GOP - talk a great game to the peasants, obey their donors/controllers when the chips are down.

I agree. He lost me on that interview...Sean asked questions several ways to narrow it down and gave hime every opportunity to cLear himself..but I found him evasive and it touched a nerve. He didn’t convince me... it’s going to be up to Alabamans to make the choice
