Republicans are exploring ways to get embattled Alabama GOP Senate nominee Roy Moores name off the ballot, including floating the possibility of changing the date of next months special election in the wake of years-old allegations of sexual misconduct against Moore.
Some party members are reportedly considering getting Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) to move the date of the Dec. 12 special election to early next year, according to The New York Times. Based on Alabama law, its too late to remove Moores name from the ballot this close to Election Day.
Moore, a former state Supreme Court chief justice, is facing wide backlash over allegations of inappropriate sexual misconduct involving a 14-year-old girl in 1979 when he was 32 years old

Im on the brink of being there.
“Something tells me hes guilty”
He may be. Most career politicians are f..ing scumbags. It’s a fact. The reason why America is on that sad height.
If this happened (and it is debatable), it happened 40 years ago. If it we’re culturally acceptable for older men to date younger women in Alabama in that way, then I would not be too surprised if a much younger Roy Moore did so. Shoot, when I was single in my late 20’s, I had friends and colleagues trying to set me up with women 7-8 years younger (sometimes family members, and all of them Christians)! This is character assassination, and 100% political, and 100% hypocrisy.
Wrong answer.
Keep the election date, back the candidate, and if the Swamp can provide evidence for these claims (that surfaced only after 38 years) then remove Senator Moore. But don’t stab him in the back over unfounded allegations with no evidence at all.
Republicans float pushing back Alabama special election
From the article:
The National Republican Senatorial Committee, the Senate GOP’s campaign arm, sent the strongest signal in the wake of the allegations. The committee on Friday removed its name from a joint fundraising committee to help fundraise for Moore along with the Republican National Committee and the Alabama Republican Party.

With Moore still on the ballot, attempts to write-in Stange would probably elect the Dim. I think the only write-in that might work would be to write in: Jeff Sessions. Probably won't happen, but with the dissatisfaction with him as AG on the part of many, his moving back to the senate might be the best thing in the long run, if he'd go along with such a strategy.
And I think Moore would still win if he toughs it out and no real credible evendence exists to support the accusations.
If he must drop out, I am sure 99.9% of Congress would have to based on similar items. A double-standard unless you side with the establishment.
That's the problem with most Republicans. They're floaters.
We really shouldn't be surprised. Remember that the nomination was stolen for Cochran with very nasty shenanigans in the primary runoff. And Murkowski kept her US Senate seat after losing her primary.
Did anyone realize how far gone the US gov is? Our Repbulic has been a phony show, probably at least since George 1 became President.
I wanted to catch that but missed it. Did Hannity ask him pointed questions and how did Moore respond?
BTW he often stutters and is not much of a public speaker. So don't necessarily mistake that for guilt.
Vote them out and replace them with democrats. At least the democrats are honest.
Gives a real good perspective on the “WORLDS GREATEST DELIBERATIVE BODY” doesn’t it.
This is a REPLAY of 2016.
What they WANTED to do was somehow get Trump off the ticket (with Ryan dying to take his place). But WE, the TRUMP BASE made it perfectly clear that Ryan or whatever other RINO they chose was not about to get our votes, NOR WOULD ANY OTHER REPUBLICAN...so they held their noses and figured it was better to have Trump lose, while still getting his (few, they thought) voters out to minimize the damage in Congress.
In this case, I suspect they’re ready to flip the seat if that’s what it takes to keep Moore out of the Senate. Since this manufactured ‘kiddie problem’ is not working well enough.
My question is: How, exactly, would they pull this off?
The double standard is loud and glaring today by simply comparing all the condemnation heaped on Moore by the usual suspects, based on 38 year old accusations, and the far greater body of evidence against Robert Menendez in his trial that's hardly drawn a mention from the some pols.
“Something tells me hes guilty.”
May we see that data?
So now when a party doesn’t like their candidate, they just postpone the election? Sounds like something out of a banana republic.
The GOP want a Democrat to win so Trump can be impeached.
BINGO! Then they can say they didn’t do it.
