Joe Nevis doesnt remember much about the early morning hours of last Christmas Eve, when a train rolling through Marysville sliced off both his legs as he lay on the railroad tracks where he had fallen near a park.

I would have to say that this individual has a drinking problem
He drinks, yes. But, he is tough to have survived.
Tommy played piano like a kid out in the rain then he lost his leg in Dallas he was dancin’ with the train
They were all in love with dying they were drinkin’ from a fountian
That is pouring like an avalance coming down the mountian
Happened to someone in the small town I live in also. He, an older gentleman, fell asleep on the tracks in a drunken stupor and the train severed both legs.
Of course, lawsuits were filed against the railroad on the drunk guys behalf.
Make stupid choices/decisions, win stupid prizes.
A girl I went to college with tried to hop a train that went right through town. She was intoxicated. Lost her grip, fell under the tracks and lost both her her feet.
Had a feeling alcohol was going to be involved somewhere in the event.
There but for the Grace of God...

You said it before I could. In a sane world, a man who lost his legs like that would not talk to reporters just to get a few minutes of fame.
But he’ll never win. Don’t make me explain why....
"I hate when I do that."
He could have been using one of the rails as a pillow.
Sometimes I think large, heavy machinery is put on this earth as an IQ test.
Had same happen to a high school kid in Clifton VA back in HS.
Maybe others know better, but wouldn’t he bleed out almost instantly, unless someone tied a tourniquet on his legs?
People tend to survive these injuries because the train wheels crush the blood vessels, slowing the bleeding.
A friend of a friend years ago hopped a train.
The bar he grabbed ripped his arm right off.
A train is not a toy or a taxi.
Good for him though. Every know and then, we all need a reminder at how quickly our lives can be irreversibly changed by the bad choices we make.
He doesn't remember passing out on the railroad tracks but I'll bet he remembers the first sip of alcohol he took that evening.
>>I’ll bet he remembers the first sip of alcohol he took that evening.
Why? Its just another night of heavy drinking. He would have probably remember the night he didn’t take a sip of alcohol.
