Many people have tried to explain away the mass shootings in Texas and Las Vegas as mental illness. I can assure you that 99.9 percent of mentally ill people could never kill anyone.
People are ruling out a spiritual component to these shootings. The mass shooters reflect the classic behavior one should expect of armed people who are demon-possessed. I invite Freepers who are mature Christians, and who have developed the ability to do spiritual discernment, to comment on this issue.
Then there is the issue of Judge Roy Moore of Alabama, the most committed Christian to be a Senate candidate over the last generation. The man is on fire for the Lord. This has resulted in the most vicious media defamation campaign that has ever been launched against a senate candidate in recent history. Could he cause a national spiritual revival if he is elected to the Senate, and the strongholds of demon possession in Washington DC do not want him in the senate?

Just as two or more TV channels can exist on the same cable at the same time and appear separate, so it is with Heaven. They are at different frequencies.
Heaven is right here, right now, but it exists at a different frequencies of consciousness. My Father’s Mansion has many rooms, each existing at a different frequency.

I remember Jacob's ladder where he saw angels coming and going into heaven. We are taught that Jesus is that ladder, but in reality, He controls the ladder. When Scriptures tell us that the heavens will roll back like a scroll, could it be saying that the barrier will dissolve between earth and heaven just as the veil was torn in the Temple to remove the barrier to God?

Thanks for the ping. Is demon possession real? Yes, but I also believe that some people are just evil and not necessarily have an actual demon/demonic inside them, keeping the original soul/person captive.
There is a man here in Houston who works with possessed people. He doesn’t charge anything so he can’t be Sued. He believes all demonic possession is mental illness and people who were molested are possessed. And he believes objects can open the door to demons so be careful about who gives you gifts.
He also points out the demon does not own those he posesses. He uses the example he can hand you the keys to his car. You will possess the car but you will not own it.

I personally know the chair of the DSM IV committee. It is always a hot discussion on how to include but bury this topic.
I’ve attended the American Psychiatric Association Conferences for quite a few years. Last year in the Atlanta APA conference I was very surprised when the topic of possession was discussed for several hours and supported as real by many MD psychiatrists at a PTSD Treatment program forum. The same was true for the spirituality in medicine forum discussions. Didn’t hear a peep on the topic this year in the San Diego APA conference. 2018 conference is in NYC.
Demonic possession is real and much more common that people think. I too have been stung several times and must constantly stay focused on God through Jesus and do housecleaning on my soul constantly.
If reading this thread causes your body to respond in unusual ways and increased tension, I would advise pulling out and reading the Bible and heading to church.

Psychiatry is still an infant and imprecise science, more about description and association than causes and cures. So saying, “Well, some parients do and others don't, we don't know why,” isn't simpler than saying, “In some instances malevolent spiritual beings may be involved.”
Now, case study:
Very intelligent (honors scholar type,) successful, kind lady. Very sweet and considerate of others. She is diagnosed as bipolar but it is controlled enough by meds that you would have to know her for a while to discern it.
She WILL not go to church, even for a academic lecture. She won't listen to excellent music if it's church-related. Holst's Short Festival Te Deum? No way.
She insists that no one discuss theology or philosophy in her presence. Then she makes little snide remarks about Xtian thought!
A meticulous researcher, she succumbs to all the popular errors about Catholic thought!
She says she is going to hell. She smiles, but she says it.
She is unbaptized. She doesn't have even the most common protection against demons.
So: a lovely, insightful, intelligent, generous person who becomes startlingly snarky, unfair, unscholarly, and almost phobic about church related things.
There are more observations, but this is enough to make demonic oppression (NOT possession) something which ought to be considered. The specificity, strength, and nastiness of her aversion is remarkable.

This is one small point where I differ. Every human has a soul that is a creation of the One God and is pure. I Love that soul in everyone.
However, sometimes good souls do things that open them up to outside influence that leads them astray and causes them to act evil.
I always Love the person, but not the outside influence nor the behavior.
This is also the belief shared by Scott Peck MD in his book “People of the Lie; The psychology of evil”
It is my Love for the person’s soul that makes it unsuitable for the dark spirit to stay there when confronted. I’ve had people bark, growl and hiss at me when I just walked up to them, until the evil spirit left and then the tears flowed like rivers.
It is not me doing this.. My strength only comes from my weakness.

I was under ether as a child during a tonsillectomy. I passed through a bright tunnel into the arms of countless loving people. No members of my known family had died but these were as family. They were filled with love for me but sent me back to finish my journey through life. I will return to them when I am finally called.
