"According to its authors, the new GOP tax bill will strip illegal immigrants of their ability to claim and collect several major tax credits.
Doing so will save the federal government an estimated $23.1 billion over the next decade.
The bill will do this by closing IRS loopholes and requiring all taxpayers to submit work-eligible Social Security numbers in order to claim tax credits.
This may come as a shock to some who take for granted the assumption that illegal aliens don’t receive state benefits—especially tax credits. However, it’s an open secret that the IRS has allowed illegal aliens who pay tax to collect a number of tax benefits, including the American Opportunity Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit."

If we assume that a similar amount of money was claimed every year, we're looking at (quite literally) hundreds of billions in forgone taxes, essentially subsidizing illegal workers. And of course, this doesn't include all the other government subsidies they receive either.

The EITC is a huge freebie. Cut it and all credits to illegals.

Oh my god.. this will be a tax increase on this cartegory of tax filers. I thought this was supposed to be a tax decrease. We must vote against the reelection of anyone who votes for this tax increase.

As others have said, if this tax bill isn’t passed before the end of the year, the Pubbies are going to pay with their jobs next November, and the Prez won’t be the one who’s paying.

I always thought that the HOR had a good number of Republicans who actually embrace the Deplorable Agenda. I no longer believe that. If they were on our side, Ryan would've been forced out of leadership when he had no plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. Did any of them even call for that?
This makes me think the tax bill won't pass.
Use it for the wall...and that sure does count as Mexico paying!!
Not to mention that, BECAUSE of these tax credits, many millions MORE illegals have come here, to partake of our generosity.
Make aiding an illegal immigrant a crime (felony?). That should stop Calfornia and save its budget.
My tax atty always checks it for me. Whenever I ask him “What do i get for it?”. His answer is mostly “something, but almost nothing”.

When this was challenged to the IRS in the past, their answer was:
There is NO LAW that prevents illegals from getting EIC & child care credits.
All this time, Congress didn’t close this loophole.
Trump is closing this loophole.
So, all the Illegal Aliens (Illegal Invaders) will stop Voting for Republicans now?

There are millions of Mexican kids whose address in the USA is a post office box next to the McDonalds on the U.S. side of the border. In order to qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit the child must live in the USA. It is amazing how many children can live in a tiny little post office box.
