The maniac who killed 26 people inside a Texas church Sunday threatened his parishioner mother-in-law, officials revealed Monday.

Devin Patrick Kelley “made threatening texts to his mother in law who went to the church,” said Texas Department of Public Safety regional director Freeman Martin. The woman, who was not named, attends the church but was not there during the massacre Sunday, authorities said. Martin would not say whether the woman’s membership with the church motivated Kelley.

Texas shooter went to church festival days before massacre

By Ruth Brown
Nov 7, 2017

The Texas church shooter attended a festival at the chapel just days before he opened fire on congregants, according to a report.

Five days before his bloody massacre, Devin Patrick Kelley brought his kids to the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs' fall festival - a Halloween event with games, a bouncy house and a petting zoo, the Houston Chronicle reports.

The troubled Airman was estranged from his wife and had been involved in a feud with his mother-in-law - a member of the congregation - so other church members saw his presence as the event as a positive step.

"They thought, 'Oh this is good. This is progress,'" Tambria Read, a friend of Kelley’s mother-in-law told the paper.

His mother-in-law, Michelle Shields, was particularly pleased to see her son-in-law at the church event with her grandkids, Read told the Chronicle.

Kelley had been sending her threatening texts before the shooting, according to law enforcement officials — but she wasn’t inside when he attacked.

New York Times ^ | NOV. 6, 2017 | DAVE PHILIPPS and RICHARD A. OPPEL Jr.

“He assaulted his stepson severely enough that he fractured his skull, and he also assaulted his wife,” said Don Christensen, a retired colonel who was the chief prosecutor for the Air Force.

“He pled to intentionally doing it.”

...He was sentenced in November of that year to 12 months’ confinement and reduction to the lowest possible rank.

After his confinement, he was discharged from the military with a bad conduct discharge.

..." The case marked a long downward slide that included divorce...

After Mr. Kelley was discharged from the Air Force in 2014, he remarried in Texas, to Danielle Lee Shields, in April of that year, according to state records.

the youngest victim killed was just 18 months old

Actually, the youngest victim was 36 weeks old, killed in the womb when the pregnant mom was killed.

But I guess that doesn't count for the New York Post.

True. The media will tell you 13 people were killed at Ft. Hood by Major Muzzie.

It was 14. 14 heartbeats were stopped forever.

As a footnote, barefoot Stephen who shot at the killer...

his parents were both killed in a motorcycle accident when he was young. Stephen said the killer Kelley's car landed at almost the same spot.

Would say Stephen isn't going to sleep very well for a while. For that matter...the whole town is devastated.

Violent Atheist who made hateful rants on Facebook against Christians goes into a church full of Christians and methodically slaughters all that did not escape.

Law enforcement's conclusion: "He was mad at his mother-in-law"

Big shot Texas Trooper Martin said on national television this morning that this massacre "was not religiously motivated". TOTAL DISCONNECT AND A FLAT-OUT LIE.

Aside the dead, wounded and grieving, I feel sorry for President Trump and Secretary Mattis, because they’ve inherited a real “bucket of cocks” in our government at every level, including our military, on whom he must now rely, when despite all the bravado it is a shadow of it’s former self thanks to 8 years of Boosh II “burning it down,” another 8 years of Obola’s “neglect,” and the a$$holes in the Congress dicking around with the military budget. It really concerns me that we have three carrier groups potentially in harm’s way in the Western Pacific and we don’t know if the leadership on them is really up to the possible tasks ahead. Unlike the Congress, where voting people out of office makes immediate change, you don’t get to “vote in” good military leadership.

“Old school friends described Kelley, who lived in nearby New Braunfels, Texas, as a “creep” who made no secret of his anti-religious views.

Nina Rose Nava, who went to school with Kelley, said: “He was always talking about how people who believe in God were stupid and trying to preach his atheism.’...”

Watched an interview with him earlier today and he said that he really needs some serious counseling over this whole episode. Poor guy. Very modest too.

How heroic locals exchanged gunfire with Texas shooter, ran him off the road as he tried to flee and shot him dead

-snip-

Texas Department of Public Safety Regional Director Freeman Martin said that the neighbor, who has not yet been named, had 'grabbed his rifle and engaged the suspect.'.

Martin said that during the gunfight, Kelley dropped his Ruger assault rifle and got back in his SUV to flee the scene.

But another local resident, Johnnie Langendorff, who had witnessed the confrontation refused to let the shooter get away. Both he and the unnamed neighbor jumped in his truck and gave chase.

In a Facebook post, Langendorff's girlfriend Summer Caddel described how the pair had 'jumped in my boyfriend's truck and they chased that sick b*****d down in pursuit until the cops could catch up. He was able to run the shooter off of the road on 539!'

Langendorff told KSAT 12 that he'd been speeding at 95mph, while on the phone to dispatch, while the neighbor kept his rifle trained on the gunman's car.

As they approached a sharp curve in the road, near the 307 and 539, he said Kelley appeared to lose control and his car swerved off the road.

'That's when I put the truck in park,' he said. 'The other gentleman jumped out, and had his rifle on him. He didn't move after that.'

Caddel added that Kelley was gunned down within a few feet from her boyfriend.

Martin confirmed that police had found Kelley dead, saying that: 'We are not sure if it was self inflicted or if he was shot by a local resident.'

Cops also found multiple weapons and possible explosives in the vehicle.

FBI, law enforcement in Texas are an insult to our intelligence. I want to like the Texas State Troopers.. I know they have a solid reputation for honesty. But how many times are they going to lie to our faces and tell us religion played no role in the killer's motivation?

In some ways it feels like Obama is STILL president where we have the top tier FBI officials, etc., pushing fake narratives THEY KNOW WE KNOW ARE FAKE but it's their mission to defend Muslims, Atheists or anyone else who hates Christians.

Report: TX Gunman Escaped From Mental Health Facility In 2012

The Daily Caller ^ | 11/07/2017 | Amber Athey

Devin P. Kelley, the gunman who killed 26 people in a Texas church, reportedly escaped from a mental health facility in 2012.

According to Channel 2 Houston, Kelley was institutionalized while he was in the U.S. Air Force after being charged with assaulting his wife and baby stepson.

A 2012 police report shows that he escaped from the psychiatric hospital after making death threats against his superiors in the Air Force and trying to smuggle weapons onto the base where he was stationed.

Kelley escaped from Peak Behavioral Health Services, a facility in New Mexico, and was caught by police in El Paso, Texas on June 7, 2012.

A witness told police that Kelley “suffered from mental disorders and had plans to run to from Peak Behavioral Health Services” by purchasing a bus ticket to get out of the state.

Kelley “was a danger to himself and others as he had already been caught sneaking firearms onto Holloman Air Force base,” the witness stated. Kelley “was attempting to carry out death threats” on his superiors in the Air Force.
