GOP Senator John McCain has done this country and the people innumerable services for which we unreservedly thank him. But the Arizona lawmakers anti-Trump stance and vocal opposition to the Presidents practically every legislative proposal could jeopardize his reputation among the masses.
We could perhaps forgive him for his unreserved efforts toward killing Mr. Trumps long-planned and promised replacement of Obamacare, but thats where the people draw the line.
With Mr. Trump diligently working toward getting his tax reform passed, it may turn out that McCain could again play a decisive role in the bills future.
As Zero Hedge has reported, the tax reform is basically dead now that McCain, the third Republican so far, has announced his opposition to it.
The outlet goes on to say: Whats worse for the Trump administration, McCain reportedly wants the bill to receive input from both parties a criticism that he cited as his reason for voting against the Trump administrations plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. This is particularly problematic because theres approximately zero chance that any Democratic lawmakers will break ranks to vote with Republicans, despite President Donald Trump repeatedly saying that he expects to win over Democrats.
The Arizona Republican has reportedly said that the current legislation is DOA in an interview with Fox Business Charlie Gasparino.
"In recent weeks, John McCain has reiterated his demand that Republicans pass their tax plan through a bipartisan process that honors the norms of regular order. McCain voted down his partys Obamacare repeal bill precisely because it failed to meet this standard. And it will be impossible to pass the House plan or anything close to it through any but a rushed, secretive, partisan process", ZeroHedge adds.
Susan Collins said on Monday that she will not vote for the repeal of taxes on multi-million dollar estates, which the current legislation includes.
Bob Corker has also said that he would not back any tax measure that would further increase the debt, even in the first decade, where Congress would be allowed to do so. In its present form, the House plan would raise the deficit by about $1.5 trillion in the next ten years.
It is also uncertain whether the tax reform would pass the House in its current status. GOP legislators from Democratic states slammed Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady regarding additions in the legislation to revoke deductions to $500,000. Deductions for student-loan interests would also be terminated.
Nothing is getting through this year as long as there are never trumper’s who can stop it.
John McCain clearly wants the Trump Presidency to fail. The Senator is beyond his expiration date.
The more evidence there is that taxes for the middle class will tend to go up, the more Senators are going to oppose it.
Yes, I think Trump’s proposals at this point are more about killing off the RINO party than anything.
My taxes will be going up. What does that create?
John McCain - the quisling....
Does every discussion involving McCain have to begin with some sort of tribute to his past wonderful service to our country??
Geez I get sick of this crapola!!
“undocumented Democrats in R jerseys”
Sorry you still don’t see it. These guys are the REAL REPUBLICANS. They are what the GOP has become.
This pos hates America, and proves it over and over...
We need this bad to open the door for health care, etc
“I thought that this was the beginning of an argument to support designation of Benedict Arnold Day as a national holiday. After all if we are compelled to honor McCain for his service, Benedict Arnold Day should be a layup.”
John McCain IS our modern-day Benedict Arnold!
Such a POSITIVE attitude from a DYING Senator.
His legacy will be that of "a turd-thrower into the punchbowl."
He is dying and that in short season. He is consumed by malice

Bullsh!+.
>> In recent weeks, John McCain has reiterated his demand that Republicans pass their tax plan through a bipartisan process that honors the norms of regular order. <<
His demand is that Democrats get the opportunity to filibuster. He makes that demand knowing that nothing could ever meet it. Roast in Hell, John McCain.
Strip him of his leadership, his committee assignments, everything. If he bolts the party, good riddance.
Johnny seems to be obsessed with death these days. Hmmmm.
Who does pays for his kick backs?.
Seems like that stage-4 brain tumor is taking its sweet time and now McShame has his foot in a boot after achilles surgery.
The only problem with hoping for his ultimate demise is that I suspect his loyal daughter Meghan will follow in his footsteps, She would likely lock up the sympathy vote and sadly Arizonans certainly have terrible standards for their Senators.
