One thing I liked about Washington state was that only the state patrol had jurisdiction on the freeways. This sort of thing was off limits to small town thiefdoms.

One would think the town would be in the red. There’s just so many jaywalkers to be ticketed.

No, I’m not going to bother clicking something if the poster isn’t going to tell us what’s what.

The target audience is local.
And getting less so every day. It wouldn't kill local newspapers to put the name of the city and state somewhere in a prominent spot on the web page so we don't have to look at the weather to figure out WHICH Springfield we are describing.

I can’t argue with that. I just think the station’s audience needs to “feel” they are watching local news. They are who the advertising is aimed at.
However, whenever someone else picks up the story, they should enhance its metadata for a national/international audience.

This is why Pennsylvania does not allow local police to use radar in speed enforcement. Over the years there has been too much abuse.

I’m with you bgill. It’s actually rude to post without a decent excerpt, imo.

It’s not a ‘government sanctioned’ scam, it’s an actual GOVERNMENT SCAM! I’m glad they’re shining light on this, but what is with this irresistible urge to let government off the hook?

I assume the same and think we've all learned well that reporters' are dogs and they use bold and capitalize if it's a Republican.
I can guarantee that 99.9% of reporters are lower than a used car salesman selling a pinto to a mother of 4. LoL
