At least 16 people have been shot inside a Texas church after a gunman opened fire during the Sunday morning service.
The shooting happened at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, where around 50 people usually attend service, according to local reports.
Witnesses said a man 'in full gear' walked inside the church and opened fire just before 10.30am.
Neighbors in the area said they may have heard the shooter reload multiple times.
Another witness at the scene said a two-year-old was also shot in the attack.
According to KSAT, there were at least six helicopters called in to transport victims to the hospital.
It's unclear if anyone was fatally wounded in the attack.

Press conference on RSBN TV (YouTube): Shooting started outside, went inside, kept shooting, came outside, local resident engaged suspect outside church. Suspect dropped weapon and fled to vehicle. Pursued by resident. LE responded, car chase, crash, gunman found dead in vehicle. Not clear if killed himself or if finally succumbed to wound from resident (?). Young white male, early 20s, wearing a ballistic vest, multiple weapons found in vehicle.
The woman with the black scarf seemed strange to me. Any one else?
Gov. at presser said victims ages 5 to 72.
Sounded to me that he said ages 5 to 92.
An enemediot at the presser asked if the perp had “militia” ties. Presstitute didn’t ask about Islamist and/or Antifa, too. Just “militia”.
Unless she has hiding a neck brace, the black thing wrapped around her neck did her no favors. She spoke calmly and seemed competent though..
Actually, that citizen, a neighbor, had a shotgun and engaged the shooter as he left the church.
He may have fatally wounded him, becasue the suspect crashed his SUV at the Wilson/Guadelupe County line, and was found deceased when the police got to the vehicle.
There were other weapons in the vehicle also.
we do also. my wife and I both carry. I told her if shooting starts, she is to get down on the floor under the pews and I will pull out my Glock and do what I can. With God’s help I will prevail.

I have heard that they will often (but not always) do that. That’s why that caught my eye.
No Chelsea, not republicans, LIborats. Republicans know how to respect life and respect weapons. Liborats have no respect for life and they encourage others not to respect life, either. And btw, it was probably a republican shot the sucker trying to get away.
Don’t be to quick to judge an old country sheriff, they may talk slow, most Texans do, but I bet he knows damn near everyone in that county. Probably seen more than most in his lifetime.

Yeah they skipped over the name, for now. One thing we did learn from the briefing was, someone grabbed their own firearm and put an end to the shooting spree.
