Actually, that citizen, a neighbor, had a shotgun and engaged the shooter as he left the church.

He may have fatally wounded him, becasue the suspect crashed his SUV at the Wilson/Guadelupe County line, and was found deceased when the police got to the vehicle.

There were other weapons in the vehicle also.

I’m just damn glad the citizen had his firearm and was brave enough to use it. God bless him.

Yep, a good guy with a gun stopped the madness. Who knows how many more dead there would have been. Every single person here should be ready to do the same, if able. I know I’m ready.

I hope we hear more about that hero. Seems bizarre for the killer to start shooting outside the church, potentially raising an alarm. Our small Baptist church has cameras at entrances monitoring people coming and going. All doors are locked during services, so I like to think this gun waving miscreant wouldn’t have gotten in.
