Skip to comments.7 Reasons Mitt Romney Should Run For Senate In Utah

After 42 years, it is time Utah changes up senators. When incumbent Sen. Orrin Hatch was elected to his seventh term in 2012, he vowed it would be his last. Recently, however, the 83-year-old told KUTV he will run againunless his friend Mitt Romney calls him and says he would like to run. Then Hatch would step aside.
Here are seven reasons Romney should take Hatch up on that offer.
1. Gives Utah Time to Find a Long-term Solution
According to The Salt Lake Tribune, 75 percent of voters said Hatch should not run again. By 2024, he would be 90 years old. His age alone may disqualify him from winning if does commit to a 2018 run. That same poll shows Romney would be the first choice for 44 percent of surveyed voters, the highest of any candidate.
At 70 years old, Romney could realistically only serve one, possibly two, terms. If he were to run and win, then the state would have several years to find its next long-term Senate solution. The other potential Republican choice, 45-year-old Mia Love, a first-term U.S. representative from Utahs Fourth District, has fewer voters backing her (8 percent) than likely Democratic Senate nominee Jenny Wilson (15 percent). This indicates a Love victory is not guaranteed if she decides to run for the spot.
By 2024 or 2030, Utah may have a young and popular candidate in-state to take over for the political veteran and serve for several decades.

First, Mittens being a Never Trump is an automatic no.
Second, States shouldn’t be looking for long term Senators.
Didn’t bother reading the rest, as there is never a good reason for Mittens or any other RINO to be elected.
I don’t suppose a non-Rino could run...
McMuffin or Romney. Horrible.
He is like a fish on the dock. He just needs to go away.
It would be better to keep Hatch than get Romney in his place.
Romney at 44%? Is that a primary number or a general election number? If it is a general election number that is not what I would call a good number in a state like Utah.
McMullin? A 41 year old unmarried male who wants to means test eligibility for social security and tried to sabotage Trump by running against him in the 2016 general election to drain votes away from Trump? Ill pass.
Just say no... to RINOs!
Agree. But aren’t there a lot of sheople in Utah?
Sorry but Mitt is a backbiting snake.....always has been and will continue to be so. Think of a Mormon McCain.....
No way ever......Bannon where are you?
You didn’t miss much by not reading the rest. Bizarre logic. The argument was that a poll shows a Democrat beating Mia Love 15% to 8%, therefore it could be a Democrat victory. It also refers to her as a “first term House member” - she is in her second term. Another reason listed for a Romney candidacy is that Joe Biden encouraged Romney to run. And another is that he could “work well with Democrats to get things done.”
And having a younger candidate to bring youth to the caucus and the image of the party isn’t a bad argument, but the logic for that per this article is so that this same person could be in the Senate “for decades” ... that shouldn’t be the point.
Romney is the least NeverTrump any Utah candidate will realistically get, and he won't stay long. Maybe Utah can get a clue in the meantime and find someone else who is better.
Scum Willard is a “HELL, F’ING NO !” Democrat Deep State operative. As for his equally scummy and treasonous puppet, Egg McMuffin, I’d vote for Harvey Weinstein before that piece of $hit.
God help us.
I don’t think you live in Utah... but you are OUT OF YOUR EVER LOVING MIND if you think EGG MCMUFFIN IS THE RIGHT PERSON!
As Utah’s junior Senator he won’t have much pull especially under majority leader Cruz.
