Late Friday morningArmy Judge Col. Jeffery R. Nance ruled Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl will not face prison time for walking off his base eight years ago and abandoning his platoon mates.
Bergdahl's defense argued he has been punished enough by being held captive by the Taliban, which radio traffic showed he purposely sought out, and shouldn't be subjected to further captivity. Nance bought it and Bergdahl will simply face a dishonorable discharge, have his rank stripped and will pay $10,000.
Good men died searching for Bergdahl. Here are their names.

But the consequences for Bergdahl's actions don't end with these brave men. The damage he did is far reaching and extensive.
Tragically, there were MANY more wounded & killed than this. Air assets were diverted from Troops in Contact so they could look for him. https://t.co/qIda5FPnKy— Sean Parnell (@SeanParnellUSA) November 3, 2017
Hard to overstate how much Bergdahl disrupted operations across the entire country for the better part of a year, w/ consequences like these https://t.co/60OTt8oJ1X— James Hasson (@JamesHasson20) November 3, 2017
And how about the five Taliban commanders President Obama let out of GITMO in a trade for Bergdahl? What are they up to?
The U.S. military and intelligence community now suspect that one of the five Taliban detainees released from Guantanamo Bay in return for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in May of last year has attempted to return to militant activity from his current location in Qatar by making contact with suspected Taliban associates in Afghanistan, multiple officials tell CNN.
The development has led to an ongoing debate inside the administration about whether there is a new threat from this man, and potentially the other four.
Disgrace.
NOW some are remembering the dead for which Robert Bowdrie Bergdahl is responsible.
Big Media only talked about the wounded, and cheered for judgie to weaponize the trial against Trump and America.
As Obama might say, they were simply speed bumps on the way to sharia.
But was it presented at trial? The transcript will not be ready for at least a week, my estimation.
DISAGREE WITH THE JUDGE
This judgie and Ito can hit the late night “comedy” shows now.
Glad the Commander in Chief is speaking out about this unconscionable decision by another judicial tyrant.
There was even a service dog injured over this SOB. If I had my way, I’d put him in solitary with his worthless POS and utterly USELESS Dad!
He will spend the rest of his life, however short, looking over his shoulder.
That piece of walking, treasonous human filth - give me a gun and let me shoot him Chinese style, with one bullet in the back of the head.
Then let’s cremate his body and scatter his ashes out on the ocean outside American territorial waters.
When he deserted his post and sent Americans to their deaths, he forfeited his right to be an American and to breathe our air.
Berghdal got off with a slap on the wrist and I’m not the only one who feels sick.
Can this decision be over-turned?
“Glad the Commander in Chief is speaking out about this unconscionable decision by another judicial tyrant.”
Here’s another thread on this with half a dozen alleged freepers coming out of the woodwork saying the opposite and BLAMING Trump.

It’s all about protecting the Fraud’s “optics”.
"...good men died searching for Bergdahl..."
The sentence is an absolute outrage.
In 2014
Susan Rice said “Bergdahl served with honor and distinction”
CT Senator Chris Murphy called Bergdahl “an American hero”
John McCain said of his release “We all rejoice.”
Obama knew Bergdahl defected and still invited his Taliban-sympathizing father to the Rose Garden. Its all about the photo-op for the cretinous Obama
Our corrupt political class is just as complicit as Bergdahl in the deaths of those American soldiers who went looking this swine after he went AWOL.
Absolutely. I’ve been following this.
I’m not usually one to call for violence but as JimRob would say, we have zero tolerance for traitors on here.
Some people truly deserve the death penalty. Bergdahl does and in a just world he would have been executed.
He makes Arnold Benedict look like a principled fellow.
The ruling disgusts but does not surprise me.
EVERY member of the US House of Representatives, yes, you TOO, Trey for 6 years, and almost all of the Senate are ACCESSORIES to the Fraud’s crimes against America.
Yes, the Commanding General of the convening authority can reject the sentence.
Military courts are NOT like civilian ones.
