And, hard as it is, properly so. The President, and all political leaders, have no place commenting on pending criminal matters. I see all the comments on the linked thread denouncing the judge. I voted for Trump and would have crawled over broken glass to do so. But wake up, people, this sentence is the Presidents fault and he also needs to clam up about the Terrorist from the other day or he’s going to screw that up, too.
What kind of weak minded judge says to themselves.. i was going to give this traitor 12 years in prison but since the DJT made a comment that he deserves death ..i am going to give him no prison time?
Oh Heck the Left will encourage him to write a book, and give him millions of dollars for it.

MSM is saying that President Trump’s remarks influenced the judge’s decision. Of course, they’ll put the blame on our president and not on the judge. UGH!
He would have worked to find some other reason if needed to mitigate the Fraud’s “optics”.

I don’t agree with you in this case. President Trump was a civilian and a candidate for president when he was making those comments.
The defense presented a supposed statement by the sitting President Trump to this pathetic judge and the judge jumped on it. Trump was asked a question about his previous comments by the press and he stated he couldn’t comment and his views were already known.
I hope Bergdahl’s life will be a living Hell, and it will be a short one at that.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was dishonorably discharged from the Army
by a military judge on Friday, but received no prison time for desertion and endangering
troops, ending a drama that began more than eight years ago in war-torn Afghanistan.
At the sentencing hearing, the military judge, Col. Jeffery R. Nance of the Army, also
reduced Sergeant Bergdahl’s rank to private and required him to forfeit $1,000 a month
of his pay for 10 months.
