With allegations of sexual harassment, assault, and other forms of misconduct sweeping through Hollywood in recent weeks, at least one Republican congressman is calling for Congress to hold hearings on entertainment industry practices.
Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview Thursday that Congress should help expose the widespread “criminal conduct” that has taken place in Hollywood and across the entertainment industry over decades.
“I think Congress — both the House and Senate — should hold hearings and expose what’s going on, and make sure people understand that Hollywood and the entertainment industry have a serious problem with sexual predators, and not trying to address the culture that’s been created,” Rep. Buck said.

You have to ask, what is the purpose of the federal government? When they held hearings on professional sports using steroids, I was angry. The feds have no business delving into little scandals. They do it just for headlines.

The feds need to sod off and let the free market take care of it, unless they can find some kind of anti-trust violation.

Plus, real crimes are being committed here and we haven’t gotten to the big fish - the studio owners, the billionaires, those trafficking children here and around the world for sex crimes.

Agree. I am more concerned with why our government felt it necessary to sell uranium to Russia and why those surrounding the deal found it important to donate $145 million to the Clinton Foundation.
An investigation of Hollywood would just be a distraction from real issues that they should be investigating.
Congress absolutely should get involved. Hollywood didn’t police itself. This went on for decades.
We need to examine the left wing rape culture of women and children.
Democrats have raised tens of millions of dollars in Holywood and used media (movies, TV) to manipulate our political process.
Time we get to the bottom of what they are hiding.
Let law enforcement do their job.
Congress doesn’t need to be involved in this Hollywood sex crime stuff. In fact, I don’t see it as their role or job.

Well, no. If they are federal crimes, yes. But rape is not a federal crime. If we allow the expansion of the federal government to local crimes because it is convenient at the moment, what about when the other side does it? Government is supposed to adhere to its charter, in the case of the federal government, that charter is The Constitution. There is nothing in the Constitution about jumping down three levels of government to pursue local crimes just because somebody thinks they should.
It is a federal crime to use tax money to pay off kids and women and then write that off as a business expense.
It is a federal crime to traffic kids across state lines for sex abuse.
All that is happening.
Investigate it.
Why do you want to enable pedophiles and rapists? Don’t you care about the women and children being exploited?
Long to do list that I wish Trump would put together and lay in front of Ears Sessions and all of the other alphabet orgs and say OK what are we doing...?

Hollywood is exactly the place to start. Trump can take out a dozen big enemies with this. Like a nuke going off in Los Angeles and we can remake the culture in its wake.

It is definitely going to hurt the Democrats in their fundraising. Hollywood was always the place to go, quick in and out, $33,000 a plate, pop a few of those and walk out with about 5 to 10 million in their war chests. Obvious reason for the Democrats to turn a blind eye. They (Democrats) knew what was going on. Hollywood. I still want to know the story behind Obama and David Geffen. Geffen was one of his early promoters and got him his speaking gig at the 2004 DNC Convention, where he was first noticed on the national scene. Funny how Geffen’s name has not come up yet, maybe because he is linked to Obama.
No sense in having federal laws against work-related sexual harassment/assault if you don’t prosecutor the perps and put the fear of god in those who follow....

I agree that Hollywood is a political enemy, we have to beat them in the court of public opinion.
If people in Hollywood are violating State laws, they should be prosecuted just like any other Joe.
