Hillary Clinton downplayed the money her campaign and the DNC paid to foreign agents to compile a dossier containing unsubstantiated smears against GOP nominee Donald Trump.
“Of course there is [a difference between the paying for the dossier and Russian collusion],” Clinton told Comedy Central host Trevor Noah.
Hillary bleated the Democratic talking point that the seedy “Trump dossier” was merely “opposition research.” She pointed out that the oppo research (that later spawned the dossier) was originally launched by Never-Trumper Republicans at the Washington Free Beacon.

Look at the recent prosecution and guilty plea of George Papadopoulos that NBC claims will rattle the White House. This guy wasn't even part of the campaign staff and his "crime" was that he misstated the dates of some meetings he tried to arrange. That was considered lying to the FBI and he's gonna pay.
Now look at Hillary Clinton who FBI director Comey said lied to the FBI repeatedly about much more serious issues and ask yourselves why her name should be left out of conversations about justice, government or security.

Not sure I would put the Washington Free Beacon in the same basket at Progressives. The Fake News Media is calling their actions "opposition" research. At the time, The WFB probably hadn't decided whether or not it would support Trump so the research they were paying for couldn't be labelled such. It was simply research.
Cankles paid people to make sh*t up out of whole cloth and CALLED it research.

I would not call them Progressive either, but they had definitely made up their minds who they were NOT supporting, and that was TRUMP.
