Each year, the U.S. Government makes 50,000 permanent residence visas available through the Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) Program. Visas are apportioned among six geographic regions based on immigration rates to the United States over the last five years, with a greater number of visas going to regions with lower rates of immigration to the United States. Visa applicants are selected through a computer-generated, random lottery. The selection of a person’s name in the lottery gives that person the opportunity to take the next steps in the visa application process. The embassy regularly receives reports of fraudulent facilitators, e-mails, letters, websites, phone calls, SMS, and print advertisements offering visa services. None of these third parties are affiliated in any way with the Embassy. The U.S. Embassy wishes to remind individuals interested in applying for the Diversity Visa Program that the Embassy and the U.S. Department of State are the only authoritative sources of information on the DV Program and its requirements. As an IMMIGRANT who came here years before this program, I have always thought it was a crazy way to let people just waltz in here without proper vetting...
Meanwhile those who did it the right way and were thoroughly vetted ended up coming in years after these “Ahmed-come-latelies”

But in reality since 1995... 55,000 x 24 people for each winner = 1,320,000 x 25 years = 33 million new dv immigrants?
