Directv used to be a good deal. Not so much any more. Since they merged with at&t it’s gotten even worse IMO.

—tell me about it—have been three weeks trying to get my second receiver hooked up—even had a tech here for an hour who couldn’t get the job done—said it has gone completely downhill since ATT took over-—am headed to talk to Dish as soon as this is typed-—

DirecTV ought to pay ME.

Half their channels are 100% commercial channels trying to sell me a vacuum or whatever.

I had better options and choices with Time Warner cable.

“Directv used to be a good deal.” Yes; it was. Now when I pay the bill every month, I gasp.

I understand that the trend is to get entertainment via internet, but I guess I’m Luddite enough to not trust the stability of internet. (We still have a basic landline, which has been wonderful and reliable during power outages.)

I just cancelled DirectTV, which was a good service but got too damned expensive. I went to Cable, which is fine and was far cheaper. Now I see Youtube TV.

I believe I’ll just watch less TV. With the death of the NFL, it’s easier. Methinks after football season I’ll just cut all TV and go internet streaming.

I told my wife when AT&T bought Directv it would go to hell rather quickly and I was quite correct. Higher prices, snotty customer reps and piss poor onsite customer service. I had a land line with these douchebags and they were just awful. A big snow storm came through a few years back and brought our lines down. We drove over them for nearly a month and they would call me at work and tell me my lines were now working I would be like really, when, oh this morning. I see, then how come I drove across them to go home during my lunch hour? Hey here is a thought, try and give my home phone a call and see how quick you get a busy signal with no one there. Oh we are so sorry it will be repaired by tomorrow evening. Four weeks of this piss poor service along with the lies. I finally called a family friend who was an engineer with them and he got my service restored in 12 hrs.

AT&T is like a cancer, it destroys everything it touches.

Directv peaked about 2001. Has been on a down run ever since. Terrible service. On demand doesn’t work. Multiple TV’s a mess. Way too much for today’s PC programming and infomercials.

I always thought I would like them. We just quit too.
