Executives from Papa John's, the official pizza company of the NFL, expressed disappointment on a conference call Wednesday about the league's ongoing player protests during the national anthem.
"The NFL has hurt us," company founder and CEO John Schnatter said. "We are disappointed the NFL and its leadership did not resolve this."
Executives said the company has pulled much of its NFL television advertising and that the NFL has responded by giving the company additional future spots.
"Leadership starts at the top and this is an example of poor leadership," Schnatter said, noting he thought the issue had been "nipped in the bud" a year and a half ago.
In revising sales estimates for the next quarter, Papa John's president and chief operating officer Steve Ritchie said on the call that the NFL deal was the primary suspect behind the decline and that "we expect it to persist unless a solution is put in place."

I don't go to Papa John's very often but I sure would if they did bail out on the league.
They are having more problems than just NFL.
Son is a manager at 1 in our small berg, just the carry out kind. Pay checks bounce at the bank they are drawn on,can’t keep drivers if they can’t cash a paycheck; can’t get anything fixed, and it doesn’t help that the Health inspector just ignore the crap. He cashes everyone’s check out of the store cash register now.
To whom are you referring as ‘Gotohellamerica’?..............
Goodell
Boycott all the NFL advertisers!
Boycott the NFL — period!
Oh, okay, I thought you were referring to the Papa John’s CEO...................
That is a gag-worthy response. Ha!
Yeah, that would be a good idea.
> Theres always Little Caesars as a replacement.
> That is a gag-worthy response. Ha!
I don’t/can’t eat pizza. Tomato allergy.
So I wouldn’t know Pappa John’s from Little Caesar’s.
Save your money. PJ pizza has been crap in my experience. I don’t know why, given the prices they charge, they can’t seem to make better pizzas. It’s not that hard. I know plenty of local pizza joints that charge around the same, or even less, and produce better pizza.
With all due respect, I never take any advice from anyone I don’t know on how I should do anything. All be it that it does factor into any decision, the reality is it is very small.
In other words, I’ll take it upon advisement.
Thanks for your concern.
It’s really hard to say which night Boston went more nuts: beating the Yankees to go to the series or winning the series.
The very idea of coming back with one out remaining in the playoffs to beat the Yankees is absurd. If you had this what happened in a movie you’d roll your eyes.
Baseball has never had a come back like that before.
And for us it was against a greatly hated team with just horrible fans. year and year losing to these people was awful.
