I’m mostly pointing out that Obama said “Act of terror” because it’s a sneaky way of NOT implicating his people (Muslims)! “Terrorist attack” is a bit more indicting of Islam.
Maybe it was the above statement and my question to you as to how many rednecks you know in New York..........
As I listen to the news, and hear person after person say that “it’s almost impossible to stop these types of attacks”, I have to say that it’s not impossible - but we have to profile. This isn’t about targeting innocent Middle Easterners or Muslims, it’s about being real and making everyone safer. The Israelis do it, and it’s effective.
No you can't trust an Islamic country but neither can you trust rabid dictators of any stripe. So far in world history, just speaking for America now, our worst conflicts have not been with Muslims or because of Muslims.
We used to get along fairly well with Muslims. I think it was the Israeli-Palestinian conflict where we sided with Israel but tried to mollify the Palestinians tipped the balance along with some hare-brained political decisions that, in retrospect, further exacerbated the conflict with Muslims. That wouldn't be the official explanation, however, and it may be an over-slimplistic way of looking at it.

I’m Catholic and the Protestants on the board seem like very nice folks. (Dont meet too many on staten island). DO have friends that i chat with via email from the site that are Protestant. And sorry folks, one was in surgery and was thankful for my prayers. JUST LIKE I would be thankful for his!!)

Only time period the US has gotten along with Muslims was during most of the Cold War, when US and Muslims united in fear of Communism. Before the rise of the Soviet Union as a world power, and since the end of the Cold War, not so much.

I know what you’re pointing out. But what I’m trying to point out to you is that there is not much difference in the wording between terrorist attack vs act of terror. This nuance flies over the heads of a lot of people.
The term we should use is not terrorist attack but rather —
ISLAMIC TERRORIST ATTACK.

She’s at an office job where it’s hard to reach her but i didn’t know about this anyway until she was on her way home.
