The Big Bang never happened and our universe may have no beginning and no end, suggests a new theory by physicists, including one of Indian-origin.
The theory applies quantum correction terms to complement Einstein's theory of general relativity and may also account for dark matter and dark energy.
The widely accepted age of the universe, as estimated by general relativity, is 13.8 billion years. In the beginning, everything in existence is thought to have occupied a single infinitely dense point, or singularity. Only after this point began to expand in a "Big Bang" did the universe officially begin.
Although the Big Bang singularity arises directly and unavoidably from the mathematics of general relativity, some scientists see it as problematic because the math can explain only what happened immediately after - not at or before - the singularity, 'Phys.org' reported.
Ahmed Farag Ali at Benha University and the Zewail City of Science and Technology, in Egypt and coauthor Saurya Das at the University of Lethbridge in Canada, have shown that the Big Bang singularity can be resolved by their new model in which the universe has no beginning and no end.
Their work, published in the journal Physics Letters B, is based on ideas by theoretical physicist David Bohm in the 1950s, who explored replacing classical geodesics (the shortest path between two points on a curved surface) with quantum trajectories.
Researchers applied these Bohmian trajectories to an equation developed in the 1950s by physicist Amal Kumar Raychaudhuri at Presidency University in Kolkata.
In addition to not predicting a Big Bang singularity, the new model does not predict a "big crunch" singularity either.
The model avoids singularities because of a key difference between classical geodesics and Bohmian trajectories, researchers said.
Researchers explain that the quantum corrections can be thought of as a cosmological constant term (without the need for dark energy) and a radiation term.
These terms keep the universe at a finite size, and therefore give it an infinite age.
Mark my words, before they’re through we’ll be a flat disc with the sun rotating around us...

“Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” There is no better explanation anywhere, scientific, philosophical, religious, or otherwise for the the reason of the existence of earth and all else.”
The common argument is then who created god or did god always exist.
”...including one of Indian-origin.
Why was that clause necessary?”
It made me raise my eyebrows as well. And what about the Arab scientist?
It was the atheist scientists that believed in the so-called steady-state universe that always existed, so that actually points away from God (take note of some of the scientists involved here). Red shift is still a real phenomenon, showing an expanding universe and disproving the ideas of the atheists; and it was Georges LeMaître, the Catholic theologian, that came up with what is today called the Big Bang theory and not the atheists.
If the Universe always existed, then were once again pointing to God.
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell inThat one verse describes a spherical earth and the expanding universe. Of course, skeptics try to say that Hebrew חוּג (chug) can only mean circle and never sphere, but their proof is tenuous, trying to cite the word דּוּר (dur, translated ball in Isaiah 22:18 and appearing only in this verse) as the only word that can mean sphere even though Strongs indicates that it means either circle, ball or pile; and does not negate the other word meaning sphere at all.
Isaiah 40:22
I’m waiting for some ‘scientist’ to propose the idea that the big bang theory is a product of white supremacy.
Maybe it was a "LITTLE BANG?"
“... their new model in which the universe has no beginning and no end.”
More problems with this theory as well.
Hmmmm. . .replacing the classical geodesics with applied Bohmian trajectories. . .yea. . I see where you’re going here.
They’re trying to go for the “mud puddle” theory again, perhaps?
“...The common argument is then who created god or did god always exist...”
The Word says; He’s the Alpha & Omega. The Beginning and the End.
He always was, is and forever will be....hard for our human brains and our mere 5 physical senses to actually comprehend such an entity sometimes.
> The laugh track is the only thing that makes it work. <
I agree. The Big Bang Theory was rather funny the first season or two. That’s when they concentrated on the geekiness of the characters. Now it’s almost like a soap opera with a laugh track.
"I AM" means eternally present, transcending time and space. God does not respond with his name, which was already told to the people many times, but with the term "I AM." I AM, so deal with it Moses. This is not mythology with Zeus, Cronos, and on and on and on....
Our finite minds will never understand the infinite.
Is this any less forceful?
Big Bang May Have Never Happened,
I know, it’s odd. The other author looked to be Arab. Why is ethnicity involved at all?
It’s like when people say “what has arab culture given us”. Culture doesn’t give, people give. There are brilliant Arabs in every field but it doesn’t mean that somehow “Arab culture” gets the credit for the research. The guys who did it get the credit - or the ridicule.
Vedic scholarship has much to say on the origins of the universe, and their predictions, having sounded outlandish over centuries, are frequently turning out to be true. So the Indians have been a part of physics and metaphysics from the beginning. Einstein worked with Dr. Bose from Calcutta and produced the Bose-Einstein theory:
“A BoseEinstein condensate (BEC) is a state of matter of a dilute gas of bosons cooled to temperatures very close to absolute zero. Under such conditions, a large fraction of bosons occupy the lowest quantum state, at which point microscopic quantum phenomena, particularly wavefunction interference, become apparent. A BEC is formed by cooling a gas of extremely low density, about one-hundred-thousandth the density of normal air, to ultra-low temperatures.
This state was first predicted, generally, in 192425 by Satyendra Nath Bose and Albert Einstein.” ~ Wikipedia
(p.s. the Boson was named for Dr. Satyendra Nath Bose. And the Bose speakers of today come from his original research.
