The Big Bang never happened and our universe may have no beginning and no end, suggests a new theory by physicists, including one of Indian-origin.
The theory applies quantum correction terms to complement Einstein's theory of general relativity and may also account for dark matter and dark energy.
The widely accepted age of the universe, as estimated by general relativity, is 13.8 billion years. In the beginning, everything in existence is thought to have occupied a single infinitely dense point, or singularity. Only after this point began to expand in a "Big Bang" did the universe officially begin.
Although the Big Bang singularity arises directly and unavoidably from the mathematics of general relativity, some scientists see it as problematic because the math can explain only what happened immediately after - not at or before - the singularity, 'Phys.org' reported.
Ahmed Farag Ali at Benha University and the Zewail City of Science and Technology, in Egypt and coauthor Saurya Das at the University of Lethbridge in Canada, have shown that the Big Bang singularity can be resolved by their new model in which the universe has no beginning and no end.
Their work, published in the journal Physics Letters B, is based on ideas by theoretical physicist David Bohm in the 1950s, who explored replacing classical geodesics (the shortest path between two points on a curved surface) with quantum trajectories.
Researchers applied these Bohmian trajectories to an equation developed in the 1950s by physicist Amal Kumar Raychaudhuri at Presidency University in Kolkata.
In addition to not predicting a Big Bang singularity, the new model does not predict a "big crunch" singularity either.
The model avoids singularities because of a key difference between classical geodesics and Bohmian trajectories, researchers said.
Researchers explain that the quantum corrections can be thought of as a cosmological constant term (without the need for dark energy) and a radiation term.
These terms keep the universe at a finite size, and therefore give it an infinite age.
You might want to look at the article. Rooting for the home team, so to speak.
Where does all the matter go that enters a black hole?
Silly rabbit, the universe was created by God. It’s in the book, read it.
Save a lot of conjecture & just read the Bible.
As I've suspected for quite some time.
Red shift theory is precisely the problem with Big Bang cosmology.
Astrophysicist Halton Arp has written excellent books about this.
In a nutshell, the assumption that red shift relates totally to relative velocity has been refuted. This in turn refutes the whole cosmology of the 20th century, including Big Bang, Dark Matter etc.
For that matter, Dark Matter was essentially refuted by the famous Higgs boson experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. These experiments covered the energy ranges where evidence of Dark Matter was expected by theory, and NOTHING WAS FOUND.
Of course, this is not a headline, because it collapses the whole edifice of Big Bang cosmology.
For those who may not know: Dark Matter is nothing but a FUDGE FACTOR to make the General Relativistic equations comply with the ASSUMED BIG BANG Universe.
Physics is in for a MAJOR EMBARRASSMENT, sooner or later, over the whole BIG BANG FIASCO.

What part of the cosmology?
Remember that the atheists believed in a universe that always existed, and red shift (which is not a theory) was one of the things that indicated that it did not. Not to mention, the theory that is now called “big bang” is traceable back to Lemaître, who did not specify a “bang” in particular anyhow.
Arp, being an atheist, would of course attempt to devise a cosmology that did not involve a Creator. And there is still a lot of confusion as to whether CERN actually did find a Higgs boson that complies with the standard model or not.
Universe = God = eternal
Essentially.
If all there was was god, then God had nothing out of which to create the Universe but God. It is, essentially, God’s great idea.
So an eternal universe shows the eternality of That Which Thought Up the Universe. And that, whatever name we give it, is God.
And?
An eternal view to the origins of the universe.
Cosmology Ping!
From the beginning there were several serious problems with the standard Big Bang>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The Assumption was that time is > 0
The proper assumption according to this theory is that time = 0
Gen Blather asked why there is a comment that one of the scientists is from India. I replied the source is from India, so I assume they are celebrating the fact one of their own is involved in this.
The spiral arm of a galaxy ends up in a black hole, the matter is ejected as plasma and the whole business starts all over again. Everywhere. All the time. Round and round it goes. Down the plug-hole.
Thanks for that discussion on this verse.
Most translations say, as here, "circle of the earth", but not all:
I see you and I are unlikely fans of Lewis Carroll.
” He had bought a large map representing the sea,
Without the least vestige of land:
And the crew were much pleased when they found it to be
A map they could all understand.”
Sounds like a very wise Dad.
