First charges in Russian interference investigation prove probe is no witch hunt
NY Daily News ^ | 10/28/2017 | FRANK MONTOYA JR.

Posted on 10/28/2017 12:05:04 PM PDT by Kid Shelleen

The news broke on Friday night with suitable fanfare that the special counsel has brought the first charges, in the form of a sealed indictment, in connection with his investigation of Russian interference in our democracy and all things associated with it.

I hope it didn't come as a surprise.

While we still don't know exactly who has been indicted — or on what kinds of charges — the reporting, if true, should put to rest, with right-thinking folks (no pun intended) in this country, the notion that the special counsel's investigation is a hoax or a witch hunt or fake news.

If Trump Jr. was indicted I would have thought the indictment would come from a grand jury in New York, not D.C.

It is standard procedure for a person under investigation to be notified that a grand jury is investigating them. According to the attorneys of all possible suspects no one has received such notice. There is no reason to believe any of this is true.

Maybe it will prove nothing.

Maybe it will eventually prove it was absolutely a witch hunt.

I'm inclined to believe it's true if media outlets other than CNN are now reporting it with their own sources (that is, they're reporting the pending indictments as their own story, not reporting that CNN is reporting the story).

I also suspect the targets of these indictments are people who aren't among the "most likely suspects," too.

Odds are 100 to 0 that the charges have no direct connection with Mueller’s original charter
to investigate the accusations of President Trump’s collusion with the Russkies.

Mueller is seeking relevancy and protecting his phony-baloney job while his termination letter is being drafted. This is a vapid investigation that has no facts, no end in sight, no logical conclusion, but a bottomless budget and undefined timeline (unless the intent is the continuation of oppo-research for 2020).

This ploy also may allow cover to stifle agressive Congressional hearings - shut them up claiming their hearings will/may interfere with the Special Counsel/FBI/DoJ investigations.

A new dump like this late on a Friday to a Clinton-friendly news outlet smells fishy.

Matt miller likens it to a drug cartel or mafia investigation. Rolling indictments

Weissman is an expert at it

I've heard it said that a running joke among prosecutors is that *anyone* can convict a guilty man but it takes special skill to convict an innocent man.

I'll bet that there's a plaque somewhere on Mueller's wall (and Comey's) that says exactly that.

Yep, smells fishy all right.

The one thing it does do is make it possible for DJT or hibernating Sessions (if he ever comes to) to appoint a Special Prosecutor to investigate, the Clintoons, Comey, Mulehead and the rest of them over Uranium 1.

Even witch hunts can find wrongdoing. Let's see who is charged and with what.

You know, it’s funny how Meuller could come up with an indictment in less than six months, but Sessions couldn’t do the same in nearly a year...

Oh, brother. So if a witch hunter says he's found a witch, that's proof they exist? Kind of a low bar they've set there, isn't it?

“hibernating Sessions”

Sessions chose a corrupt Obama stooge, Rod Rosenstein, as DAG

He then recuses himself from a totally fabricated story by the corrupt state and propaganda media...’russian collusion’(Whatever that means). No evidence of any crime.

Rosenstein appoints special counsel to investigate Trump with no evidence of any crime.

After 8 years of wholesale treason and lawlessness we finally have a special counsel to investigate an incoming, lawfully elected President of the United States. You’ve got to be fargin kiddin me

None of this happened by chance. It was orchestrated and that beady-eyed deep-state compromised rat bastard, jeff sessions, was in on it. Probably from the get-go

You can indict a ham sandwich. This is still a witch hunt.
