Washington (CNN) A federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter. The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge.
Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said.
It is unclear what the charges are. A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment.
Mueller was appointed in May to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Under the regulations governing special counsel investigations, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has oversight over the Russia investigation, would have been made aware of any charges before they were taken before the grand jury for approval, according to people familiar with the matter.
On Friday, top lawyers who are helping to lead the Mueller probe, including veteran prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, were seen entering the court room at the DC federal court where the grand jury meets to hear testimony in the Russia investigation.
Reporters present saw a flurry of activity at the grand jury room, but officials made no announcements.

Mueller is authorized to investigate "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation," according to Rosenstein's order.
The special counsel's investigation has focused on potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, as well as obstruction of justice by the President, who might have tried to impede the investigation.
CNN reported that investigators are scrutinizing Trump and his associates' financial ties to Russia. Mueller's team has also examined foreign lobbying conducted by former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and others. His team has issued subpoenas for documents and testimony to a handful of figures...

Seeing RT is claiming Boente is being investigated..need to go see if true that RT is running with it
Oh come on ,LOL , you believe the Clinton News Network
It really doesn’t matter “Who” is arrested.
As long as Mueller can claim there is a link to his criminal trial.
He can try to keep the FBI informant from testifying about Uranium One if he can link these people to his case.
and so many others.
It’s a legal power grab.
Manafort without question
ping if you were snoozers like me...
She is endearing herself to the rabid nutbags that voted for her.
She is just feet away from the chopping block. Don’t expect to much excrement flying from her mouth in the coming days.
Tax bill passes.
The power clan is more than welcome. :^)

‘This News that Mueller has filed Criminal charges is a TACTIC by Mueller.’
Yes...this is the 3rd or so strategic leak to ‘legitimize’ the special counsel and to keep Trump from firing his ass. It’s painfully obvious

Donald Trumps ex-campaign manager, was looking to replace his top lawyer after the FBI raided his Virginia home in a pre-dawn raid last month, The Post first reported on Thursday.
He will hire Miller & Chevalier, a small D.C. tax-focused law firm, to represent him, according to a report.
Manafort had primarily been represented by Reginald Brown of WilmerHale the same DC law firm that employed Robert Mueller until he was appointed special counsel in May to investigate allegations that Trump colluded with Russia in the election.

President Trumps son-in-law Jared Kushner has hired another top-rated lawyer to his legal team: Charles Harder, who won a multimillion judgement against Gawker on behalf of wrestler Hulk Hogan.
Kushner, who has already been interviewed by congressional investigators and who has acknowledged having contacts with Russians during the campaign and presidential transition, is already being represented by high-powered attorney Abbe Lowell.
He also has been represented by former Justice Department big Jamie Gorelick, (WilmerHale) although she stepped back from Russia related areas of her representation.
I think this is what Sean was referring to about the last tick tock.

If he’s sworn to secrecy then he should lay off the “Tick Tock” sh!t.
Im betting either Comey or Podesta will be the first indicted.
I would think we need another special prosecutor to investigate the special prosecutor. Trump should just fire him if he does that. Let the filthy coyotes howl.
This nonsense needs to be shut down now. President Trump ought to fire Mueller and zero out the budget of his witch hunt.
If any move is made against President Trump or his family members by Mueller, it’ll mean civil war. We must not let something like that stand. If Congress tries to impeach Trump, the result would be the same.
But, the silver lining is that, if impeachment happens, at least 90% of our troops (and most officers below the rank of colonel) will defend Trump and protect him from the Swamp Things.
Not sure if this has been posted yet but Dana Boente resigned today, just daus after saying he looked forward to coming back as fulltime NVDA. Pretty big-deal guy at DOJ and is in district where Mueller has his grand jury.
Connected?
Amazing isn't it.
Imagine this was leaked to CNN by someone in the White House, and it’s a totally fake story. LMAO.
Don’t miss #49. I was hoping to see the view through at rifle scope.
