Author Christina Baker Kline has come forward saying she was groped by former President George H.W. Bush in 2014 during a Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy fundraiser during a photo opportunity.
"'You wanna know my favorite book?' he whispered. I had to lean close to hear him," Kline wrote in an op-ed for Slate.
"President Bush put his arm around me, low on my back. His comic timing was impeccable. 'David Cop-a-feel,' he said, and squeezed my butt, hard, just as the photographer snapped the photo. Instinctively, I swiped his hand away," Kline wrote.
Kline is the third woman to accuse Bush of sexually assaulting her.
Actress Heather Lind initially came forward Tuesday claiming Bush sexually assaulted her and described the interaction four years ago in a now-deleted Instagram post. The incident happened during a photo opportunity to promote a TV show.
Late Wednesday, a second woman, New York actress Jordana Grolnick, also accused Bush of groping her, according to Deadspin.
The latest statement from the office of Bush was released Wednesday and offered a detailed defense of the 93-year-old after Lind claimed that he sexually assaulted her.
The statement said that Bush has been in a wheelchair for five years and explains that he cannot reach people around the waist.
"His arm falls on the lower waist of people with whom he takes pictures," the statement read. "To try to put people at ease, the president routinely tells the same joke — and on occasion, he has patted women's rears in what he intended to be a good-natured manner. Some have seen it as innocent; others clearly view it as inappropriate."
"To anyone he has offended, President Bush apologizes most sincerely," the statement added.
I don’t have any use for George H.W. Bush or his family, but I doubt that a wheelchair bound man in his 90’s is capable of “assaulting” anybody.
GHWB likes Clinton because they collaborated on helping Nicaraguans run cocaine via the Mena, Arkansas airport in the 80's.
I'm not so sure about Jeb and W disliking Clinton as they're on the same page on just about every political issue. W's recent speech may as well have been written by Bill or Hillary.

Someone needs to review the definition of “sexual assault.” Assault, maybe, and certainly inappropriate, but I don’t think butt-grabbing meets any state’s definition of “sexual assault.”
And the third woman claims she was even warned to be discreet afterwards which is evidence enough it was inappropriate.
Never met a 90 year old man in my life, especially one in a nursing home that didn’t play grab-ass with the nurses. It’s expected. Men are men and unless you’re queer you’ll be staring at the nice looking nurses with a fine butt as long you live.
Honestly...if she had been the least bit attractive I would probably done what most men in their 20s would have done....not necessarily proud of that answer but it is honest!!!

1) Liberals fabricate things all the time for their own purposes. They have no qualms about it. Ann Coulter’s documented countless cases of this. I don’t believe a damn word any of them say, and, honestly, when suddenly a whole ton of people start leveling the same charge against someone perceived by them to be on the right, I just get even more suspicious.
2) The man’s 93 years old and was 89 when the earliest of these claims was made. He’s going to die soon. Who gives a shit at this point in his life? There probably actually is reasonable doubt that he has full dexterous control over his body and mind to make a conscious, deliberate effort to grope someone.
3) Whether you like 41 and his sons, hate them, or feel somewhere in between, there’s no need for us to get distracted from the current brutal fight for the future of the country to crucify a 93-yr-old “from our side” to “save face” with people who don’t care one bit how many times we eat our own. There are dangerous people in power right now who probably have more skeletons in their closet than you could fit in a warehouse. We should be countering fire with fire and destroying those people and let Bush 41 just fade off in peace.

How did make you feel, and did it feel “appropriate” for the work place?
The part that gets brushed over in a lot of these stories is that this is happening in the workplace, during interviews, and public events.
We are not talking about flirting with the new girl and putting your hand on her shoulder as you lean over to look at the PC. While that is technically an issue, that is not what is being discussed.
I don’t like the “climbing on the bus” aspect of this; but I address sexual harassment in my office at least twice a year. If its happening, it stops.
At one time I found out two of the VPs that reported to me were “saving me expense money” buy only getting one room when they traveled. I explained to them that if I could figure it out, surely everyone in the building knew—and it would only be time before it became an issue. Lo and behold, it blew up when a spouse found out a couple of weeks later.
We used to have a lawyer who would tell us: The are six million people living in New England. We are only asking that you don’t date about 300 of them.
The double standards are just mind blowing.

A 2006 state senate candidate has also alleged a butt grabbing incident years before HW was confined to a wheelchair. Although he does suffer from a rare form of Parkinsons that can sometimes result in out of character behavior, mood changes and other issues which may explain a great deal of this.
I had a boss in Boston when I worked p there, and she invited me to her house in the Cape. I declined to be told that it would be in my best interests to go.
I would get sexual comments constantly. Comments about my body, and if I will be working topless etc etc. Do I work out for my butt etc.
Every now , and again the odd hand wold be touching me. That would be just one account, and trust me there are many.
I felt uncomfortable in some cases like my boss, and in other cases with a co worker it was brushed off, or a laugh.
