Author Christina Baker Kline has come forward saying she was groped by former President George H.W. Bush in 2014 during a Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy fundraiser during a photo opportunity.
"'You wanna know my favorite book?' he whispered. I had to lean close to hear him," Kline wrote in an op-ed for Slate.
"President Bush put his arm around me, low on my back. His comic timing was impeccable. 'David Cop-a-feel,' he said, and squeezed my butt, hard, just as the photographer snapped the photo. Instinctively, I swiped his hand away," Kline wrote.
Kline is the third woman to accuse Bush of sexually assaulting her.
Actress Heather Lind initially came forward Tuesday claiming Bush sexually assaulted her and described the interaction four years ago in a now-deleted Instagram post. The incident happened during a photo opportunity to promote a TV show.
Late Wednesday, a second woman, New York actress Jordana Grolnick, also accused Bush of groping her, according to Deadspin.
The latest statement from the office of Bush was released Wednesday and offered a detailed defense of the 93-year-old after Lind claimed that he sexually assaulted her.
The statement said that Bush has been in a wheelchair for five years and explains that he cannot reach people around the waist.
"His arm falls on the lower waist of people with whom he takes pictures," the statement read. "To try to put people at ease, the president routinely tells the same joke and on occasion, he has patted women's rears in what he intended to be a good-natured manner. Some have seen it as innocent; others clearly view it as inappropriate."
"To anyone he has offended, President Bush apologizes most sincerely," the statement added.
Pretty much the same thing Trump was trying to explain to Billy Bush. About what a sewer they were both in at the time.
Blow back from incessant whining.
If you wait years to say something, it makes it look like revenge rather than seeking justice.
Where are all the women coming out against Joe Biden?
Looking back on it, was that appropriate for the workplace? How would it make you feel today? (Other than flattered) And what would you tell your wife if that woman were your boss, or influential regarding your career.
Why are the kids and Babs still wheeling this guy around like a museum piece? It’s macabre, even by Bush standards.
“Come on. Copping a feel is not sexual assault. It is inappropriate and possibly illegal (misdemeanor) but its not the same thing as Harvey was doing.”
How is it different?
Harv copped feels, too.
YES! he looks terrible! Scary even. and behaves worse! Stay home, George.
it’s NOT the same as HW, but it is still pretty bad.
You can’t just grab random asses! Even if you are old, or an ex president.
“”His arm falls on the lower waist of people with whom he takes pictures,” the statement read. “To try to put people at ease, the president routinely tells the same joke and on occasion, he has patted women’s rears in what he intended to be a good-natured manner. OMG, they are admitting it?
I would’ve said his hand likely just brushed her, no big deal. BUT the ‘joke’ indicating it is intentional makes it pretty sick.
I wonder if some old-age thing makes people less inhibited?
Well you know the left and their agenda of victimhood. They take an actual crime and then try to equate it more and more to things that eventually have zero relation to it at all. Pretty soon a male just being in general vicinity of a woman will be considered sexual harassment, and then eventually they will make it a race issue, sexual assault exists because of white supremacy and white privilege.
Seems like everyone is going to be accused now.
“I wonder if some old-age thing makes people less inhibited?”
Yeah, I think the older one gets the less one gives a rat’s ass about all this bullshit.
Calling what Bush did sexual assault demeans the term sexual assault.
George Bush should not be grabbing women’s backsides. If he did that, he is wrong and should apologize. If he’s too senile to stop doing it, his family needs to keep him from making public appearances. Having said that, an old man in a wheelchair pinching a woman’s backside is not Harvey Weinstein masturbating in front of a woman, or raping her. Its very convenient that these Bush stories are all coming out now. Its as if its part of a strategy to tar everyone with harassment stories to hide the really bad stories like Weinstein.
The world’s pre-eminent globalist assassin reduced to dirty jokes and playing grab ass. Glad it’s all now coming out.
Was at a senior living facility and heard this one (told by old man to old lady) “do you know the difference between lunch and a BJ? Good - meet you at McDonald’s”.
Biden is the worst.
My Lord, these “accusers” are such fooking snowflakes! Either that, or they are trying to “establish their brand”, to use the current lingo, by standing up to “abuse”.
A few assorted relatives (male AND female) loved telling double-entendre “jokes” when they got into their 80s and beyond. They were completely harmless eye-rollers like those quoted. And if they happened to put their hands where they shouldn’t, either the person affected or someone nearby would give a disapproving look or word, and that was that.
The benchmark for sexual assault is absurd
I’ll dispute it for you
Women in general in the real world outside convenience land we call western civilization
A land built mostly on the sweat blood and deaths of white Christian men
....are not even remotely as capable as men to survive
It’s a damned joke
Which is why we historically died to protect them with little hesitation because they were the fruitbearers and loved and cherished and honored them
It’ was Gods plan
Now they are whiney shrill victims ever clamoring for protection via litigation meanwhile boasting of their daring doo from a fake reality instilled by homosexual social engineers ensconced in the confines of West Hollywood and Madison Ave
It’s lunacy
And destructive
