MSNBC's Wallace Inserts Anti-Sarah Palin Jab into Trump Discussion

On Tuesday's Deadline: White House, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace again demonstrated that she is still obsessed with Sarah Palin's part in the 2008 presidential campaign as she found a way to work an anti-Palin jab into a discussion of Republican Jeff Flake publicly condemning President Donald Trump.

MSNBC's Wallace Inserts Anti-Sarah Palin Jab into Trump Discussion

After right-leaning MSNBC contributor and Trump critic Charlie Sykes recalled the President's public feud with Myesha Johnson -- the widow of fallen soldier La David Johnson -- Wallace took a shot at the former Republican vice presidential nominee as she turned to fellow Republican-leaning MSNBC contributor Elise Jordan and, out of nowhere, posed:

Elise, someone around this White House said to me, "Nicolle, you know what it's like. Imagine if Sara Palin had won." That's how they described the Trump White House.

As if there were some reason to believe a President Sarah Palin would have gotten into a dispute with the family of a fallen soldier and resisted trying to smooth things over, Jordan went along with the premise as she lamented:

And you think it couldn't get any lower, but it always can. That's what I am most concerned about going forward, you know, in a week where you see the commander-in-chief call out the wife of a fallen soldier, a widow, argue with her publicly in her moment of deepest grief, and you think, "How could he go any lower?" But the amazing thing about Donald Trump is he always can.

It was just a few weeks ago that Wallace oddly found that the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal coverup reminded her of what it was like to work with Palin on the 2008 presidential campaign.

Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the Tuesday, October 24, Deadline: White House on MSNBC:

CHARLIE SYKES: This is not a feud -- this is not a Twitter war. This is a fundamental fight for the soul of the conservative movement, and I think a lot of conservatives and Republicans have been numbed into thinking that somehow this is normal, that if, in fact, you do dissent from this, if you do talk about the cruelty, the meanness, the lying and all of that, that somehow you are betraying conservative principles. Exactly the opposite is true. And it is interesting the euphemisms Republicans use to describe this. I read an article talking about Donald Trump's brashness or that we're objecting to his personality. No, this is character. These are fundamental issues of human decency. And I do think that all of those are in play, and I would urge everybody to go watch Jeff Flake's speech because this was an eloquent and a powerful plea for a return to fundamental decency in American politics because that is exactly what is at stake right now.

NICOLLE WALLACE: Elise, someone around this White House said to me, "Nicolle, you know what it's like. Imagine if Sara Palin had won." That's how they described the Trump White House.

(Elise Jordan sighs)

ELISE JORDAN: And you think it couldn't get any lower, but it always can. And that's why I think it's just enough is enough. I mean, we have seen what this man's character is. More people need to be speaking out, and I commend Jeff Flake for what he did today.

I’m so confused - I thought character didn’t matter a few election cycles ago?

Nicole Wallace’s job in the 2008 campaign was to sabotage Sarah Palin at every opportunity.
The Cheap Labor Express must have paid her well because she is still doing it.

What is she babbling about? Trump never got into an argument with the widow. If was with the rodeo-clown congresscritter.

actually the whole McCain Campaign did.. She was supposed to a pick that wouldn’t have affect on campaign to ensure Obama won.. She was so good 1st week to the point McCain went ahead and look like he may win.. Then stock market crashed and McCain made horrible decisions by calling a summit and suspending his campaign. they also hid Palin for weeks which allowed McCAIN campaign and media to do an all out assault on her. I personally think McCain was intentially tried to lose but Palin changed the dynamics of that race that they helped destroy her.

What is she babbling about?

They just make stuff up. The narrative matters, not the reality.

It's just like the other day when I saw Trump torture a puppy to death on TV. Of course, I was horrified, but then I thought, Hillary warned us this would happen ...

Pathetic Nicole has Palin on her brain. After all, her mean behavior toward Palin made her famous.

Before Sarah Palin, who ever even heard of Nicole Wallace? Working as a homely staffer, a handler of sorts, for Sarah during the presidential campaign, back-stabbing Nicole turned everything Sarah said or did over to the enemies of conservative women, of whom Nicole is a prime example.

Ugly inside and outside, both physically and spiritually, I never knew how Nicole Wallace ever got a job in front of a camera, in public, certainly not in Media. Possibly at the city dog pound, gassing stray dogs and cats, perhaps, or a lab harvester of baby parts, but never near a camera on an opinion show.

Precisely.

McPain was never out to win, just lose gracefully.

Then you had Sarah come in and wanted to hit places like Michigan hard.

Well they shrugged that advice off and kept to the designated loser plan.

Fast forward eight years and where did Donald Trump campaign the hardest?

Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida.

Sarah herself was in Michigan the last few days before the election.

He won all those states, not by much, but just enough.

Well hells bells, it's almost like if you actually try you just might get what you working to achieve.

What a concept.

IMO, McCain did not enter the race to win, he entered for his own ego and to raise some money. For him, it was the same old game of entitlement that has followed him through his life.

The McCain Team thought they were pretty good at the chess game of Identity Politics. Sarah Palin was put in place just in case the Dems nominated Hillary as Zer0’s running mate. The Dems outmaneuvered them with Biden. However, Sarah became even more popular because of her charismatic connection with the people.

When Sarah began to dominate the campaign, McCain’s ego became bruised. To keep him relevant, they isolated her. That did not work so well because it meant the Left’s attacks on her required no response. Any response would lift Sarah up in the public awareness. With Sarah in the background, with no support, the opposition used it to their advantage. Sarah became like an Albatross to hang around McCain’s neck.

These poor decisions illustrated the flawed McCain strategy in other areas; especially being unable to maneuver around the economic collapse after the Convention. That was because he was a flawed candidate and matched against Palin, it was more evident.

When he lost, he revealed how flawed a character he was. He blame shifted the loss on Sarah. That is something an ill-mannered character would do. His ego may have raised some money for himself, but for many Americans, he compromised his integrity and the specter of an Obama Regime to hang around his neck.
