Emails written by Obama administration Department of Justice officials confirm reports the agency engaged in a systemic effort to funnel money to liberal advocacy organizations from settlements reached with big banks.
The documents, obtained by the House Judiciary Committee as part of an ongoing investigation, reveal the Obama Justice Department effectively skirted Congresss budgetary authority by requiring that major financial institutions donate to a group of affordable housing nonprofits and legal advocacy organizations as part of settlement agreements resulting from predatory mortgage lending practices.
The internal DOJ documents represent the latest revelation in a two-year investigation spearheaded by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte.
The investigation has thus far yielded evidence implicating the Obama DOJ in using mandatory donations to funnel roughly $1 billion in settlement money to activist groups, including The National Council of La Raza, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition and the National Urban League. The list of third party organizations were unrelated to the legal settlements, except through general claims that they would use the funds to aid the low income Americans most severely harmed by predatory lending practices.

yes, this disgusting abuse of power and lawbreaking and SHAKING DOWN of monies for their pockets.... was OBVIOUS at the time
and still nothing’s been done to at least recapture those stolen funds and return them to their rightful owners
and Obama and Holden and their co-conspirators are still walking around free, too
Clearly the Obozo DOJ worked as a well oiled shakedown racket. Just because those in the DOJ who ran and participated in that racket, did they actually break any laws since they were sanctioned by the A.G.?

The federal government no longer will make settlement agreements with any person or organization not directly involved in a legal dispute, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Wednesday. The move by Sessions abolished a practice that has funneled likely millions of dollars in banking settlements to outside organizations in such third-party payments.
Left-wing groups, including La Raza and NeighborWorks America, benefited from the practice, The Daily Signal previously reported.
In a formal statement, Sessions said: Effective immediately, [Justice] Department attorneys may not enter into any agreement on behalf of the United States in settlement of federal claims or charges, including agreements... more on FR
Demand that the scope and dimension of collusion in sub rosa deals be examined, as to who might be personally profiting and if financing terrorism is being facilitated.
<><> L/E needs to examine bank accounts.
<><> Joint bank accounts might be used to facilitate the transfer funds from one account to another, and/or wire-transferred offshore;
<><> To cover their tracks, fake invoices might be created to show that money deposited into accounts was being used for legitimate purposes.
<><> Financial schemes scheme might be advanced by issuing phony statements of payments from financial sources that actually covered the transfer of funds for insiders' personal use and/or for financing migrants from terrorist countries.

NOTE WELL Under the Bank Secrecy Act, banks are required to establish, implement and maintain programs designed to detect and report suspicious activity indicative of money laundering and other financial crimes and financing terrorism. The Bank Secrecy Act was enacted to protect the public from harm by identifying and detecting money laundering from criminal enterprises, terrorism, tax evasion or other unlawful activities, the special agent in charge for Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation, explained.
Shady banking transactions could be prosecuted under the (1) Bank Secrecy ACT, (2) RICO, and, (3) the Hobbs Act.

<><> L/E should scrutinize bank accounts for suspicious activites: (A) large deposits, (B) funds transferred from one account into another, (C) frequent requests for withdrawals.
<><> Bank records might also show diversions to secret LLC accounts, to money launder and to operate personal ventures;
Tax fraud may also be a factor, facilitated by withdrawals, gift cards purchases, credit card purchases and intra-bank transfers from legal bank accounts into personal accounts, or redistribution schemes.
<><> A huge tipoff is whether bank withdrawals support and luxurious lifestyle including payments for real estate, investment and stock holdings, jewelry, luxury vehicles, resort travel....... and gifts and purchases from luxury outlets.
Find the laws that were violated and initiate a clawback of all donations from said groups. Alternatively, or, additionally, make the principals who did this reimburse the treasury for the loss.
WHEN IS SOMEONE GOING TO JAIL????????????????????
There was no auditing because our do nothing Congress was just as complicit refusing to do their constitutional duty by passing a budget. If you recall they did not pass a budget to watch the purse strings for 10 years!!!

BTW, I served as an NGLO with the 1st Battalion/12th Marines in the early 80s.
It's not just a swamp, it's a total underworld of crime.
Somebody big is absolutely going to jail. There's no doubt it...
When can we start the claw-backs? :)
Oh, and I corrected the wording of the release...

PP - don’t give up on Sessions. Reserve judgment until the story has ended. :) Score cards needed? Brain Overload for citizens not attuned to politics. (which happens to be most of ‘em)
Just shutting off this spigot should have a huge political impact.

TRUMP ORDERS FEDERAL PRISON TO PREPARE FOR 23 HIGH PROFILE POLITICIANS
What's the power word in that headline, huh?
It's "23". By putting an actual number to this anonymous story, it makes you think that Trump has 23 specific people in mind he plans to lock up!
Being a small time publisher and sales copywriter, the headline gets an A+ in my book.
It's a Happy Halloween greeting from Trump/Sessions.
Just between the two of us, the number “23” is much too small. One must count higher than 23 in order to round up all the scoundrels who require questioning. From the highest (BO’B)to the lowest man on the ladder (looking straight at John McCain here, who may not be the lowest at this time; but might be soon)
shameful.
Obama's looking at sedition and treason. It will take several years to fully investigate all the permutations of his illegalities, but we have eight years, so Jeff Sessions, take your time and do a thorough job.
It's time for more investigative reporters and just plain old citizen reporters to start researching this. Fight On!
