What does it take to make a snowflake?

The complaints are everywhere. Kids, young adults included, are incapable. Dumbed-down! Inept! They’re “snowflakes.” Drifting with the breeze, piling up to weigh down roofs and flatten fences, snowflakes melt at the slightest rise in temperature while more await being pushed aside so functioning adults can get to work.

But nothing happens in a box. The modern snowflake didn’t arrive like a Currier and Ives Christmas card. Their existence owes in part to previous generations being either too busy working, or inventing methods to avoid work, that no thought was given to product quality at home. (Where the heart is, remember?)

More tackle box, less X-box. Even little kids "need" the latest I-phone 9.752. WTH? Wake up parents. How the hell did we ever survive? Our call to get our asses home were called street lights. Of course now, due to light pollution, some areas install a lot fewer street lights than they used to.

The most important factor...a trust fund or a disability check is central to snowflake-dom.

Guess I’ll never have that burden to force me into snowflake-dom. ;-)

You're not doing it right.A lawyer whose office is next to the laundromat refers you to a shrink. You tell the shrink that you have chronic anxiety. The shrink pats you on the hand, signs a few papers and voila!...$1,500 a month from the US Treasury,a Medicare card,a Medicaid card, food stamps, subsidized housing and your very own cell phone with unlimited minutes, texts and data.

DO NOT claim back pain! They'll send out secret photographers to snap pictures of you.

“Their existence owes in part to previous generations - - - “

Much truth to that statement. When the greatest generation of all let the hippies and other anti-culturists slide right on through, we got all sorts of lefty goodies including legalized abortion.

Each generation lets something pass that helps destroy our culture.

Snowflakes just happens to be our current issue.

This isn’t just the USA, it’s the whole damn planet.

My kids generally didn’t get electronics as gifts. Sure, I make a good living as an engineer using computers etc. but... My kids got pocket knives, backpacks, flash lights... cool “Dad gadgets” that just also happened to be very practical.

Kids who were raised without siblings.

You quickly learn that you are NOT the center of the universe when you have a sibling and parents who are practical people rather then romantics.

The most disturbing fact is that the oldest millennials will be Constitutionally old enough to run for President in 2020.

Just saw on the news this morning that some cities/states are considering outlawing texting while walking. Pedestrian deaths were up 22 percent.

When my kid was in the Marines and they are in uniform they cannot talk on the phone and be walking. Can’t have their hands in their pockets EVER, either.

Got a notice from Social Security Admin -- we are getting a whopping 2% increase for 2018.

Of course, I have not yet received a notice of how much my Medicare Part B premium is going to increase. A couple of years ago, the SS increase minus the Medicare increase gave me a grand increase of $1.00.
