President Trump early Monday disputed the account of his phone call with a Gold Star widow, who provided a description of the call earlier that morning in an interview.
I had a very respectful conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, and spoke his name from beginning, without hesitation! Trump wrote on Twitter, referencing one of the Green Berets killed earlier this month in an ambush in Niger.

The presidents tweet comes after Myeshia Johnson during an interview on ABCs Good Morning America confirmed Rep. Frederica Wilsons (D-Fla.) description of the call.
What he said was yes the president said that he knew what he signed up for, but it hurts anyways. And I was it made me cry because I was very angry at the tone of his voice and how he said it. He couldnt remember my husbands name, Johnson told host George Stephanopoulos.
Trump denied Wilsons description of the call last week, but Johnson on Monday said the congresswomans account was not fabricated.
Whatever Ms. Wilson said was not fabricated, what she said was 100 percent correct, said Johnson.
Why would we fabricate something like that? she later added.
Wilson first provided her description of the call last Tuesday, saying Trump told the widow that her husband knew what he signed up for."
Trump repeatedly denied Wilson's version of the call, as did White House chief of staff John Kelly during a rare appearance on Thursday at the White House press briefing.
Look for 4chan to demolish Wilson shortly.
Sheeesh, when are we going to stop reading about this NON-NEWS/
Are we going to dwell on this for weeks?
Help the Sergeant’s family and MOVE ON !

Yep. Same reason the Weinstein story came out when it did.
Well said.
Maybe a condolence letter including an invite to the White House would be better. That way families who want to come would and those who dont want to come wouldnt. General Kelly was correct being against such phone calls.
I hate the MSM.
Is it reasonable to be surprised that the President of the United States would be using notes to get the names right for the four servicemen who were killed? Of course not. The President has a lot of things he has to remember. I understand this woman’s grief, but she is being influenced to adopt an unreasonable stance that is unfair to President Trump.
I keep hearing that Trump should not get involved in this. If he doesn’t, who can defend him? Kelly did, but the MSM just ignores that and keeps on trotting out the story like it means something. But I agree with Trump; the empty barrel is not helping her cause.
I might add that it should come as no surprise that “La David” would cause someone to stumble a little.
Call her in and have a beer!
You have to really analyze the selfishness and racial and political hatred manifested in what the wife is saying. The president of the United States is offering condolences and she is screaming about the fact that she thinks the president stumbled with her husband’s name. There is no there there except in her anger and hatred.
Of course he said the name and no one can ever disprove that the wife thought she heard it said in a way that she didn’t like. The complaint is completely preposterous. And yes it’s a difficult name big deal.
Think of how rotten these people are, the president called and offered condolences and she is on national television programs screaming about the way her husband’s name was said or something else vague. What lousy self promoting hatred.
Black people have long amazed me with some of the names they foist upon their innocent newborns. In particular are the French touches. Many have their down-home twists like “Antwan”. Perhaps it was found in a dictionary as the phonetic pronunciation of “Antoine”. Anyway, I don’t blame Trump for stumbling over the name of this fallen soldier. “La” implies the feminine in French. “Le” would be correct for the masculine. Assuming the parent (or parents) of the deceased were able to tell the difference at birth, their boy should have been called “Le David”. Frankly (no pun intended), if I were he, I would have changed my name to just “David”.
Somebody has to support the welfare queens in the family. This is like winning the lotto to them Chief.
Parents can name their kids whatever they want, but they should understand that difficult names are a handicap, not an advantage; and they certainly shouldn’t blame people for being challenged by the difficulty.
I don’t hate Trump. I do dislike some of the things he does. Not letting this story die is one of those things. All he’s doing is giving this caricature an extension of her 15 minutes of fame.
Unreal. This despicable, be-tatted ghetto trash is sullying her own husband’s honor...all for cold, hard cash. The other families are disgusted, and her husband would be too. All directed and scripted by the racist left and rodeo clown Rep. Wilson. Sickening.
Everything is political if you are a democRAT . Everything Trump will be negative and Everybody is aware all the democRATs are in total anti-Trump mode . In spite of this Trump is making things better . MAGA !!!
