Of course he said the name and no one can ever disprove that the wife thought she heard it said in a way that she didn’t like. The complaint is completely preposterous. And yes it’s a difficult name big deal.

When I first saw the name, it appeared as "LA David".

Having been out of the service for decades, I tried to connect a military title—like Lieutenant-Adjutant.

Knowing a little French didn't help any!
