President Trump early Monday disputed the account of his phone call with a Gold Star widow, who provided a description of the call earlier that morning in an interview.
“I had a very respectful conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, and spoke his name from beginning, without hesitation!” Trump wrote on Twitter, referencing one of the Green Berets killed earlier this month in an ambush in Niger.

The president’s tweet comes after Myeshia Johnson during an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America” confirmed Rep. Frederica Wilson’s (D-Fla.) description of the call.
“What he said was — yes the president — said that he knew what he signed up for, but it hurts anyways. And I was — it made me cry because I was very angry at the tone of his voice and how he said it. He couldn’t remember my husband’s name,” Johnson told host George Stephanopoulos.
Trump denied Wilson’s description of the call last week, but Johnson on Monday said the congresswoman’s account “was not fabricated.”
“Whatever Ms. Wilson said was not fabricated, what she said was 100 percent correct,” said Johnson.
“Why would we fabricate something like that?” she later added.
Wilson first provided her description of the call last Tuesday, saying Trump told the widow that her husband “knew what he signed up for."
Trump repeatedly denied Wilson's version of the call, as did White House chief of staff John Kelly during a rare appearance on Thursday at the White House press briefing.
“Whatever Ms. Wilson said was not fabricated, what she said was 100 percent correct,” said Johnson.
“Why would we fabricate something like that?” she later added.

If the caller had been a democrat president and spoke the same exact words, there would have been no problems. That’s just the way it is.

The husband made the sacrifice, and yes he knew the risks.
The family and the rodeo clown are engaging in an old democrat and muslim tradition of parading the corpse for political gain.
So you make a fortune purely by fighting with Trump over your dead husband. And some of us understand that what we are observing here is pure racist and political hatred.
Sounds like it was a very awkward call...Trump made a call to a widow who has strong partisan feelings about him...and after he was done talking, well that was that. Very different from the other call from months ago that has been made public.
As far as remembering the name goes...there is no way Trump makes this call without a sheet of paper in front of him, with the highlights of the soldier's life, with his name right on top.
Sadly, this woman comes across as a combination of shell shocked and coached...and its really just sad.
I always like to compare how things are reported, when 'the shoe is on the other foot'...and the contrast to how the media has treated the Benghazi families is striking. Several of them state clearly that HRC told them in person 'it was a video', and are dismissed as liars by the media.

The president makes the call with General Kelly and others present. Obviously he knew the names. Just maybe a phone call becomes Awkward on the receiver’s side when a democratic congresswoman is in the car listening and demanding to be given the phone to yell at the president.
