North Korea has warned that the US faces an 'unimaginable strike at an unimaginable time' in a new threat likely to further destabilise peace in the region.

A statement from North Korea's Pan-Korean Emergency Measure Committee for Opposing Nuclear War Drills said: 'The US is running amok by introducing under our nose the targets we have set as primary ones. 'The US should expect that it will face an unimaginable strike at an unimaginable time.'

On Monday, the United States and South Korea launched a joint naval exercise in a fresh show of force against North Korea over its growing missile and nuclear threats.

Tensions over the North's weapons programmes have soared in recent months, with Pyongyang carrying out a series of missile launches and its sixth nuclear test, its most powerful yet, in defiance of multiple sets of UN sanctions.

Plus, I can imagine them attempting to wipe out our big city/ies on the west coast, so what can’t we imagine? D for lack of truth and effort.

We occasionally hear about threats to the US power grid. Are they valid or total nonsense?

...Where is the UN ?...

The UN sits placidly by the river in New York City where the “diplomats” sip champagne, eat caviar and Kobe beef, and continue to accumulate millions of dollars in unpaid parking tickets without a care.

Kim's trying to get stuff from us. He wants goodies to prop up his failing regime and sanctions lifted so he can sell stuff to buy luxuries. He's upset that the same old tactics he used successfully on Clinton, Bush, and Obama are not working with Trump. But he refuses to understand that and is doubling his threats.

I think the threats are empty because once fired his country and rule is finished. Kim hasn't yet figured out what will work with Trump, or Kim is unwilling to go there because that would mean easing up (like Perestoika) on the N.Korean people, and the end of his tyranical regime. Kim's threats are probably empty. He might be insane but he's not stupid and probably has an idea of his limits. The big question is: when will China see Kim as a threat?

I'd say they're valid nonsense.

The UN is ok with nations and terrorists threatening and attacking the USA. In their twisted world, America deserves it. And we should keep sending checks to the UN too.

The UN IS and WAS the “Death to America Crowd”, well before NOKO came along.

The big question is: when will China see Kim as a threat?

That's the right question. AND... What does China see as a threat? The greatest threat to China would be the complete fall of NK and a reunification of the peninsula where S.Korea governs the whole as a free nation (as apposed to oppressive communism).

This would weaken China's influence and they would lose the buffer that NK provides. I'm sure NK costs China's economy more than it helps it. BUT they provide some international strategic support. So then the question is, when would China intervene and what would that look like?

I honestly believe that China would like to just take over the country. And the world would be ok with that. But, alas, they may have lost some control over their psychotic child and are now puzzled on how to do that with creating a war.

Seems like the Iranian do likewise.

The problem is that once it gets loud enough, they are not taken seriously. With our porous border, I wouldn’t doubt that there will be an unexpected attack on the US.
