North Korea has warned that the US faces an 'unimaginable strike at an unimaginable time' in a new threat likely to further destabilise peace in the region.
A statement from North Korea's Pan-Korean Emergency Measure Committee for Opposing Nuclear War Drills said: 'The US is running amok by introducing under our nose the targets we have set as primary ones. 'The US should expect that it will face an unimaginable strike at an unimaginable time.'
On Monday, the United States and South Korea launched a joint naval exercise in a fresh show of force against North Korea over its growing missile and nuclear threats.
Tensions over the North's weapons programmes have soared in recent months, with Pyongyang carrying out a series of missile launches and its sixth nuclear test, its most powerful yet, in defiance of multiple sets of UN sanctions.

It’s what they do.
I dated a South Korean for a while. When I asked about some rattling NK threats being made at the time, she rolled her eyes at me and asked why I listen to anything NK says.
NK thrives on belligerence. It’s the only way they can psychologically justify the brutality imposed on the populace, and be taken anything close to seriously by anyone else. If NK stops making hyperbolic threats, then it’s just a failed state.
It is well past time for their nuclear facilities to have nuclear “accidents”, with plausible deniability.
The only thing preventing complete dismissal of NK on the world stage is the fact that they _are_ building bigger bombs and firing rockets farther. At some point someone WILL have to smack down that regime, and things are gonna get real messy for a couple days (like “smoking ruins of Seoul” messy).
